Product Description
This samurai saya sword features a 27-1/2" stainless steel blade with a traditional Japanese inscription. A decorative habaki, tsuba, menuki and pommel add tons of old-world style and authenticity to this saya. The imitation ray skin handle is wrapped in maroon-colored cord. The scabbard features an opening that allows the Japanese inscription to be visible even while the blade is sheathed.

I am happy with my purchase. For the price it is a very good value. For the cost, I would recommend this purchase. It's not "museum quality", but well worth the price.

Very amazing sword. Quick delivery as well. The blade is actually fairly sharp on delivery, and the engraving on the blade makes this a very attractive sword. Trueswords is really the best place for collectors.

The blade is gorgeous! It is very light for its size, the blade is flawless, the guard appealing, and the hilt exquisite!

Very good sword for display; not for practical use. Thanks for your customer service and speedy delivery Trueswords.

I purchased this sword together with other katana tiger sand garden and i got it after two days so i am very impressed about shipping, this sword is stainless steel blade but for the price of $25 is a steal because i saw at asian plaza at my city was $60 so i am happy with my purchased and both swords display on my wall look so awesome, the small problem i do not like is the handle color is black and not match with the purple showed on the picture but i am fine anyway.i just bought another one AKIO HATTARI model #2201 for $198 and carbon steel 1095 come with box, solk bag, clean kit and velvet display stand...wow it look so elegant and legend, thanks trueswords.com and will buy again soon!

Very cool sword! It was not as cheap and flimsy as I expected it to be, its well built and looks absolutely beautiful. The writing on the blade was smaller than I expected but still very cool. It does have a weird smell that I think is from the purple dye but its not that powerful and a quick spray of Axe got rid of it pretty well. It is just a display sword and is only meant for show so I wouldn't go swinging this around in the woods or defending your home from Genghis Khan with this one. All in all this is an amazing sexy sword and True Swords has yet to disappoint^o^

I got this today and online the color looks like burgundy but when i opened it it was Royal purple and it looked awesome way better than online. I know you cant see the design of the tsuba from the picture but its actually the same tsuba included with the build a katana kit sold on this site for $79.99. Not very sharp but thats the least of my worries. All in All a good buy for the price. Definetly going to be buying more from TrueSwords

I had no dings or faults on it or anything, came within three days, AMAZING Saya. If you're thinking about getting one and can't decide, get it. Very cheap, but not cheaply made, as is TrueSwords. TS has yet to disappoint, wont be my last buy!

Pros
A nice Katana to start or complement a collection. Even though the blade is unsharpened the kissaki is quite sharp, be careful. I have used this in a iaido demonstration and received many complements on the katana and saya. The habaki fits nicely in the saya, not too tight or too loose. Very nice feel in the hand, and smooth on the draw and sheathing.
Cons
I have this katana on display in saya because it has 'china' on one side and '440 stainless steel' on the other side. Sageo is a dark purple (nice presentation knot), Same is black.

This sword is my favorite out of the three I bought. The edge isn't sharp, but that isn't promised. I love the design. The wrapping feels awesome. There is not a darn thing wrong with this sword.

Plus the purple cord on the saya is a great touch.

Lovely piece of steel here. It is sturdy and has a great wrap on the handle.

Only 2 things I have found questionable.
It takes a little bit of effort to get it out of the sheath
and in the cut away part of the sheath, it feels coarse and unfinished.

Other than that, it looks great and is awesome.

I am pleased

Arrived saturday morning, and it looks better then I
even expected. You can't get anything this high of quality for $25 anywhere else, I would pay twice as much. The only reason I give it 4/5 is because it came with a small crack on the scabbard, but True Swords took care of it the day it came and I got a brand new scabard for free.

I bought this sword for my birthday. First sword ever, Came so quick in the mail true swords never lets me down. Not that sharp, after playing with it the blade somewhat came out of the handle but not that much to worry about. Good for the price will be buying more from true swords.

This arrived a few days ago. It was nicely packaged and came in at a reasonable time. There is a very small dent on one side of the saya, but its something i can live with. Not sure if the saya is made of hardwood like it says but it kinda feels like plastic. Also it noted that the wrap would be darker than the one shown in the picture. I image it would be close to black or something, instead I got it in full on purple, kinda like royal purple which is brighter than the one shown. The blade is not sharp what so ever except for the tip and writing is written in paint that can be scrapped off if your not careful. the sword is also a tight fit with its saya so drawing the katana isnt smooth and requires a little more effort but be careful not scratch the writing!

Aside from all that it is a very beautiful piece. Good weight and looks great on display. I would not recommend anything else to do with it though. I'm very happy with my purchase although its not exactly what i wanted (which is the color in the picture) This is my first sword from trueswords and i do plan on buying more in the future. Next one would probably be a more expense piece with and edge or a battle ready one.

First off, this is officially the first sword I have purchased from True Swords, and the first one I bought over the web, so I may not be sure what to expect.

Overall, I love it. The sword is beautiful, the fabric tie is perfect-though there seems to be something hidden under the bindings on the grip, I could be wrong.

The Sword was well packaged, and arrived right on time, with its stand.

The only downsides I can find: The blade is pretty dirty, and I lack a cleaning kit to clean it properly, so I have to wait a few more days to a week for one to arrive(since I can not find one on True Swords). and the damage to the outer box, I doubt this was True Swords fault, and more the shipping company, but the corners of the box were dented terribly, and while the sword seems undamaged, It was a matter of concern.

Overall, a Beautiful sword, great for starers like me! :D

This was the first purchase I have ever made from True Swords. After this purchase, it is no wonder that I have become a loyal customer to this company. This sword is a fantastic display sword. I am constantly asked about the writing on the blade, which every friend of mine finds fascinating. The color of the material is beautiful, and it feels natural in the hand.

The sheath is a tight fit. Unsheathing the sword is a little bit harder than I feel that it should be, but it is not meant for fighting so that is fine. My only real complaint is that the little notch on the sheath that the fabric is tied in to broke off shortly after I received it. I was able to just stick it back in place, and super glue would probably fix it, but it was a bit frustrating. However, the wood seems to be of decent quality and, just as any sheath should, is almost as dangerous as the sword itself. It was common practice for a samurai to use his sheath as a blunt weapon, and this one definitely can show you why.

The blade is NOT sharp. This is a DISPLAY sword, so do NOT expect it to cut anything. You cannot sharpen it, you cannot do anything to it to make it a weapon. However, the tip is extremely sharp. It can, and will, go through just about anything, so be careful with it. The steel is very sturdy, so please do not swing it at anybody as a joke. The paint used for the writing is paint, and it is stainless steel, so it DOES scratch off. This is unsurprising, but prevents you from properly putting the sword back in the sheath. You cannot slide the sheath across the blade, because it will start scratching off the paint.

All in all, it is a beautiful wall piece, and gets quite a few ooh's and aah's. This is a fine collectors' piece.

This is a nice blade.... for the price. It wasn`t sharp and had a few minor marks on it but, i can live with that. The sheath also had some marks on it but, i was able to clean it off easily. It is definitely a unique design. It makes a good first sword or a unique add to a collection.

I liked the design and how the sheath had a hole in it so you could see the writing. It is slghtly heavier than my other katanas, stick a little in the sheath, had tiny scratches on the blade, and had a little black residue on the gaurd. But it is still my favorite for its price.
Also, the handle wrap was black instead of magenta like the bow on the sheath, which kinda disapointed me.

Overall the sword itself is a beautiful display piece. Looks great on any fireplace mantle or bookshelf or dresser. My main concern is that when i got it the sheath was cracked. Trueswords of course took care of the issue and i got it fixed. But overall, aside from that, it's a good product
