I bought this a few months back or so and have been keeping it in my car in case of emergencies and ive taken it hiking a few times and up until today didnt need to use it. Fallen tree in the road on the way to work that needed some chopping and this blade did surprisingly well. The handle wrap came off pretty quickly but i just rewrapped it and kept going and finished quickly without so much as a dent in the blade. Well worth the money imo

I have a nice collection of swords, I needed a strong short sword with a strong sheath to attach to my backpack for hunting. This little bugger fit the bill perfectly. It is strong and versatile, and I'm sure if needed will kill and attacking coyote without problem.

First off, price is a steal, you guys could go about 30$ and sell just as good. I didnt buy to chop wood, im working on a ninja outfit, and with the hard sheath and backstrap, its too perfect. Sharpness is not razor but good enough to get the job done. Solid blade, dont see it bending or breaking anytime soon. Fantastic Buy!

It's not long so don't think it will be. Comparable to a large machete in length, which is exactly what I wanted. I put an edge I wanted on it and it works very well for my needs. It's attached vertically for a right hand draw on my TAC vest. Easily goes back into scabbard. Scabbard not too bad, it's not bullet proof but it works well. Good purchase and I'm happy with it.

For the price of the blade i was a little concerned that i was going to get a 22" pocket knife. But the sword is almost perfect. Just the right size for QUICK draw, strong sheath, has the three great qualities of the sword: piercing, slashing, and skull bashing. The stainless steel is thick enough to sharpen it better. (P.S. don't advertise it if it is not true, it is not sharp as a razor) but it can be. I did like the paracord handle though cause it can be easily replace with bone or wood handle. Just shape it the way you want it. And apply epoxy to make it permanent. Easy fix. I say for $20 you not going to find a better blade....

I've had mine for a couple of months now and it's very solid, I've hit a steel pole and it didn't damage the blade not one bit. But the famous problem is its grip. It constantly shifts up and down and even can come loose in one good swing. My advice: Take off the grip, buy some athletic tape and penta-wrap it to perfection.

At first, I was reluctant to purchase this blade, leery that the price was reflective of the quality. I was truly hoping to find a short katana style sword to train with for close quarter combat style fighting. Although I like the size and looks of this blade, I was concerned of those flimsy "toy blades" that bend the first time you try to cut anything other than paper. After reading some of the reviews and at $19.99 I figured it was worth a go, so I ordered two of them. MAN! was I pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. These blades are not works of art but they are thick and sturdy and just what I was hoping for. They came with a decent edge on them, but I enjoyed the task of honing the edges a bit more and feeling the weight of the blades in my hands. I was not overly impressed with the quality of the cord grips -- they were wrapped in a neat pattern but not wrapped tight enough to endure much of a workout. However, I will enjoy customizing a grip more to my liking when these fail. Even at the original $41 these blades are worth the money. At $20, they are a steal. Can't wait to start working with these blades.

Quite a good blade, but I would prefer it to be sharper than just the ground edge...I'll be putting a right proper edge on it. Good weight, good feel, especially with a back draw. I would like to know if there is a left-handed scabbard compatible with this sword?

This blade is very thick surprised me it also came sharper than i imagined. The edge holds up well, the sheath works and come on people its not meant to be $1000 dollar quality but it beats anything else you can pick up for even $20 more.

The ninja, the real ninja, did not use fancy swords. They were outlaws and country folk, and they needed swords they could beat the hell out of and throw away if necessary. This is that sword. It is not pretty, but unlike more expensive swords you won't be afraid to put it through it's paces and using it for whatever you want. Ninja tree trimming, ninja box opening, ninja champagne bottle opening.

Great sword. I wish it was offered in a twin set with a decent hard double back scabbard. The nylon thing is a joke. Forget about returning the swords to that after use(which I would think would be part of it)... I've found out that be using a heavy duty electrical shrink on the handle and roughing it up a little with some 36 grit sandpaper greatly improves the balance and manuverability....a great purchase for sure...C'mon trueswords....There ARE those of us out there that are capable of using 2 swords in unison, and looking for a good shinobi back strapped hard scabbard set... Can ya help us out?

This is a wonderful piece. Has a good point and length, and the sheath is great for protection. The only down fall is that the wrapping on the handle was a little loose (Id take it of anyways to wrap it in leather) And the sheath doesn't lock very well with the sword. But hay, i can now pull it out with ease. Over all this is a fine sword and will cut through your enemy easily.

I've had this sword for a year now and I've beaten the hell out of it. I've thrown it into trees, (Not recommended but totally works btw) hit it against metal, swung it improperly, taken down countless saplings and all I've had to do was sharpen it once and it still has a nice edge, and I bent the blade slighty one time. Now, I am 6 feet tall and weigh 180 pounds but I did pull ups with this thing until it bent back. (Which did take a while) It's a think blade and is very strong. Holds an edge nicely and is anything you could ask for in a sword. My only complain is that I don't like the handle so personally just untied, re-wrapped, and then used that "Shrink rubber" stuff around it for a better fit. I've bought 200$ swords that I would take this sword over. Well worth the money. I'd buy a second in a heartbeat. If this one would ever break that is...

When this sword arrived at my house the blade was in the mid-range of being sharp and dull I would suggest that you sharpen the blade a bit more before using it. Now it's very hard to see it in the images provide above but the blade isn't a straight blade, it's curved but it's hard to tell at first. The blade is nice and thick as they said witch is very good. The nylon cord wrapped handle wasn't lose and very snug. The sword has a nice weight to, it's not too light not too heavy it's just right in my opinion. And lastly the "Impact resistant ABS scabbard with nylon belt loop & shoulder strap" you either love it or hate it I don't think I'll ever be a fan of it. All'n all I say this item is well worth your money.

Great product from the Timber Wolf Company. The blade thickness is nearly 3/16" and is reasonably sharp. In addition, the sheath appears to be very durable and can be worn either across the shoulder or on the side of the leg.

Consumers of trueswords, I am impressed. for the price, this is a formidible peice of steel. the blade is sharp and straight, clean, not a scratch on it. the tactical hard case is a very nice touch, but the straps can be a bit confusing due to the fact that you have to run them yourself so heads up. the handle is wrapped beautifully well, and it's quite a bit more heavy than what I expected. over all, dispite the straps, 5 stars.

This sword is the coolest yet that i bought from Trueswords, The blade it sick looking with the black frosted steel. The scabbard had straps that where insanely complicated that took me about a half an hour before i realized what i was doing and even now i have no idea if what i did was right. The blade comes fairly sharp and is easy to sharpen and can easily cleave a sizable branch off of a tree, the quality of the blade is very good, it is weighted correctly and is very comfortable to swing. The nylon wrapping on the hilt can move around a bit but its nothing too significant and you can easily glue it down or modify it if it bothers you.

I got this sword with the Israeli Gas Mask and together they make you one badass MTFer. I got this for myself two days after christmas and it shipped to me two days later which is awesome shipping time saying it usually takes around 5 days for me to get my packages for TS. All in all this sword was a great buy and it wont be my last. ;D

This is a great sword for a good price too. The hard plastic sheath is a nice addition as well. This sword also came fairly sharp and was easy to sharpen quickly. Only two problems, the handle is a little lose (which i fixed with hot glue), and that the shoulder straps are kind of a pain to configure, i ended up using one like a belt and the other around my leg, Otherwise this sword is great and i would give it a 5/5

This thing is awesome. Much heavier than I expected to be honest, and the blade is pretty thick. But its still easy to swing, and came sharp. Very durable blade with some decent straps, and the sheath is freakin cool. Another great buy, you won't regret getting this.
Thanks TrueSwords!

I just got my sword in yesterday and I must say, I love it! The sword was a little heavier than I thought it would be, but its not heavy to the point where you can't wield it effectively. Mine came sharp enough to cut right through the boxes it was shipped in with ease. The only part that slightly annoyed me was the cord wrapping on the handle tends to slide up, but it doesn't come unraveled. All in all, for my first buy from Trueswords.com I'm very pleased and will definitely make another purchase from here.

This sword is amazing! I expected the black color to be just a cheap color, but it isn't at all. Mine came well-sharpened, not razor, but just enough. I actually accidentaly put a hole in my wall... and the length is great- true to what an actual ninja would use- not some big fancy weapon that would ruin their stealth mission. The straps are pointless, but I just use one to wear around my waist. It's a solid piece of good metal, and the wrapping isn't loose at all. If you're thinking about buying it DO IT!

I would like to begin this review by saying True Swords is the MOST amazing company I have ever dealt with. They have absolutely amazing customer service.

Now on to the swords:

I purchased two of these. The swords themselves are of amazingly great quality. The perfect thickness and length. They come sharper than most swords I've ordered and sharpen up very nice with a good stone. The handle is very comfortable and they are very sturdy. They do not bend at all.

The sheaths are a different story. When I opened the box, every single "buckle" was broken. This was very unfortunate but all I did was go to Wal-Mart and buy new ones and hand sew them back together. No worries.

The sheath is made of a hard plastic. It is very good quality itself but one of them were broken when it came. Just the top part though and it wasn't broken off. It just had a hairline fracture. I got some Super Glue Gel and fixed it right up.

I wear them in an X across my back because I bought two of them and I absolutely love them.

Thanks TS!

although not a large sword like a traditional ninja sword (though i didn't care about that), this tech sword is excellent. it's light and nimble, the balance throughout it's length is perfect; one can perform very acute maneuvers, turns and rapid dashes, with ease. it's definitely a close combat, stealth-type weapon. i dig it!

Very Sharp, Not quite as long as I imagined. Interesting strap system, and no instructions. You can do vertical or horizontal straps for back, leg, or waist strapping. I bought two. Very comfortable scabbard, I cross the two swords behind my shoulders. A must buy for any real missions.

Ordered Wednesday (Tuesday night) and just got it today, Saturday. The box it came in was banged up, severely in fact. Luckily the blade was unharmed.
It's a very nice blade, with a nice black finish. It's smaller than I thought, though.
This is my first buy from true swords and actually the first time I buy a sword. Very satisfied with the sword, and for twenty dollars, it's a darn good deal. The tip is extremely sharp, but the rest of the blade is not as sharp as others say. I've actually tapped my hand with the edge and no cuts, though I'm sure if I were to swing at something, the sword would definitely do some damage.

Overall, an excellent buy. Thanks True Swords!

I've been to flee markets before that sold swords that were priced around $20. These pieces of crap seemed to be made of the lowest quality material available and most of the parts (hilt, guard, and such) were actually glued together! So, of course, i was a little leery about making this purchase, but after receiving this sword (which took only a couple of days), i have absolutey no regrets! It feels great to hold a solid, sleek piece of quality steel with a nice grip. The edge is pretty sharp, but could use some work. The sheath looks very nice (considering it's made from plastic), but it is a little noisy when the blade goes in and out of it, which isn't very practical if you want to be stealthy. The straps aren't too bad either. They can be positioned in a variety of ways by sliding them through the two criss-crossing slots located on the back of the sheath, which provides a variety of possibilities for carrying the weapon. It can be strapped to one of your thighs, around your waist, on your back, and even over your shoulder, which is how I prefer to wear mine. Overall, the quality of this sword is excellent for $22, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a battle-ready weapon at a flee market price.

Decent edge out of box I recommend further sharpening but overall Sharp enough to get the job done it's also pretty well balanced could be better but nothing's perfect honestly if your looking for a good sword to take care of business it's the best bang for your buck and the scabbord is pretty nice and way tougher than I thought it would be

Great for the money! First off you gotta remove that paracord or else it'll do it for you while your using it and that ain't fun. Secondly, you gotta re-wrap it with something cause the shock from striking without, sucks.. Other than that, it's a great buy. I've had mine a couple months and it's held out through everything I've put it up against. I even throw mine and it does surprisingly well. So if your thinking about it, then do it. It is worth it.

I'm pretty happy with buying this, the shipping came really early, as opposed to one of my other orders from this site, so that's a plus. The blade itself came sharp, however it might need a bit touching up, the handle however became unwrapped very fast, after about 4 or 5 swings it became hard to use because I would have to painfully grip it tight due to the handle wrapping sliding off. I fixed this however using some athletic tape. The sheath hasn't become broken like other people have said it has, and it can be easily adjusted. This is my first sword, and I have no regrets buying it.

I just bought the Timber Wolf and have been experimenting with it. First thing is found out is I do NOT like the wrapping on the handle. This does NOT giver the secure grip you expect with this type of blade and the way you have to hold it to apply maximum force. I am going to re-wrap mine with either deer skin, or some other rough leather. Also, it would be better if the handle were an oval to begin with as '()' it is more natural to grip. The blade is plenty sharp and the stiffness is fine. I will be practicing with it to get the 'feel' of it's 'rhythm' during use. I would recommend this blade, but I would say the wrapping needs to be gone in favor of something more natural to grip.

A bought one of these swords for my go-bag as an all around cutting and defensive tool. I was so impressed with the feel, balance and quality of the blade, that I bought three more for the rest of the family. My one disappointment is the scabbard. While the overall construction is good, the top corner where the locking mechanism is, is separated; which doesn't allow the blade to remain locked securely. Not hard to fix, but I would expect not to have to fix issues on a newly received product.

I just got this sword today! Completely worth it. Very sharp out of the box and has amazing balance! My only complaint is that the rapping around the handle was loose. I took that off and re-rapped it with that same cord, just a little tighter this time. Overall great sword and I tottally worth the 20 dollars!

This is my 2nd buy from True Swords and I have to say that True Swords hasn't let me down. The only issues I've had with this is that...
1. Rope handle unwinds itself through use. Can easily be retied, but I guess it's something to be expected.
2. Belt clip broke (though I really didn't plan on using it anyways).

Good things about this sword...

1. Sharp straight out of the box.
2. Sheath clicks the sword into place so it's not sliding out.
3. Very balanced and light weight.

I'll probably just wrap something else around tis for the handle but still, amazing wakizashi sized blade, especially given the price.

This sword is great. Its light weight ,black blade and doesent cost much. I like the design of the sword its very simple is how you could say it i guess. I wasent too keep on the shieth for this sword though. It is cool but it just dident fit my tastes. It is a hard plastic i guess. With an area on the back to put the straps so you can wear it. The sword is cool but i didnet like the shieth much i give this a 4 only by personal preference.

My only complaint about this sword is that for its weight, the grip is sub par. You cant get a grip like you can on the ninja set swords. Other than that, it requires some sharpening from the time you get it, but its got a great scabbard. Couldn't figure out the straps though.

Just got this item in today and very disappointed with this product but guess you get what you paid for. On the sheath the area where you put the straps through broke off so easily very cheap plastic was used and super thin. I will have to design new loop holes for the sheath or make a new one all together as its very cheap plastic. The handle wrap was very weak as well, so that must go and will have to make a new hand grip. Sword it self is not bad comes dull so be ready to have to sharpen it. I would not recommend this to anyone as its cheaply made parts will end up costing you more in the long run. Oh and secondly shipping is very strange this was shipped UPS then transferred to USPS to deliver to me wasted about a week of time by doing this plus seems to me that this would cost more to ship this way.
