Well, just received my Cold Steel "Boar Spear", I have watched several videos on this item, one from Cold Steel, I knew this was a large weapon but when you actually have it in your hands, it is massive, am 6'4" and it stands well over a foot above my head. The blade came coated with some type of lubricant (reminded me of vaseline) which was easily wiped off.The blade is quite sharp but can use a little improvement. This is NOT a light weapon! If you want light try the Asegai spear. The best thing is it's price, for around $50.00 this is truly a great value! I probably will never use it for it's intended purpose but it sure look great in my office with the other assortment of Cold Steel products (I am building a collection of their products, 19 items so far). If you want a serious, well made spear try this one.
This spear is MASSIVE! Be warned, you do have to attach the head to the gigantic pole, but it's completely worth it and easy to do. However, the screws that come with the spear are very bad, one even broke as I was screwing it in, and the other is barely holding the head on. I'm going to get better screws and reattach the head though, that should fix it.Because of the terrible screws, it gets a 4/5, but the spear itself is massive, easy to throw, and easy to use in general. Also, the blade was razor sharp.
Perfect example of the medieval thrusting spear. NOT A PIKE OR JAVELIN!!! This spear is meant as a true thrusting spear! Very sharp, and fatter handle than I expected. Overall, an incredible spear that will breeze through human tissue with ease!
This weapon is awesome! Very sharp and larger than you would think from looking at the picture. My only complaint is that I only bought one instead of two.
this came in a very large box which is good because it was the perfect stabbing target this spear is extreamily sharp when i took it out of the box i could slice through paper with no effort at all and it is also good for throwing
