This 40" daito is an ideal practice sword to safely practice your sword skills while protecting your self and partners. Constructed from hardwood and includes two piece handguard. Includes samurai katana sword style handle wrapping (tsuka ito). Great for training!Bokken is a training sword, used as a relatively safe and inexpensive substitute for a real blade in several martial arts. They are used in the early stages of iaido when a practitioner has not yet reached the level where use of a iaito would be safe. The exception would be when a certain kata involving two people is performed. Then the veteran iaidoka will use a bokken for safety reasons.

I thought that the bokken was very well made. although the wrapping on the handle did seem to come off a bit easily. i had to add extra adhesive. but overall it is my first order from true swords and i really enjoy having it. it is an awesome training sword.
My first purchase at True Swords, and so far my expectations were met. Delivery was a week, so it was good. Packaging was a bit large for the bokken, but no real complain then. The bokken itself is of reasonable weight and length. My only problem is that it began to dent and chip within the very first use. Of course, coming from a product of such price, it doesn't surprise me much. My recommendation is to save up money to buy a good quality bokken (usually pricing around $60 and above.)
The Sword is solid it wont break and i got it in good condition, the only thing i did not like was the brown ring on the sword, i bought the natural wood sword and this one so i switched the rings and it looks better. All in all this is perfect.
It took a while but I got it and it wasn't bad it was a little bent is all
it's a really good training sword. the only thing i dont like is that the tsuba a is an ugly light brown. other than that, i suggest this to any beginners.
this is a soft wood fer some reason and had some white cracks on it but dosent matter i am just useing it for musule toneing
Very great for sparing .. highly recommended
My friend gave me this Bokken awhile back and I liked it so. It was broken when he gave it to me... I guess he hit it against something metal. It was good because it is light and easy to use. Bad because the clothe got off to easily and when it was on it was hard to grasp it.But I liked it enough that I am buying a new one :3
