Using the same methods used 2,500 years ago by Bronze Age swordsmiths, our Shikoto Longquan Master Hand-Forged Katana has been hammer-forged and clay tempered to produce a 27 1/4” T10 high carbon steel blade with a visible hamon line. A harder cutting edge and a softer spine is the hallmark of a high-quality weapon and our swordsmiths have achieved this through the differential hardening process. The katana has a wooden handle which has been traditionally wrapped in genuine tea-dyed rayskin and cord. The decorative tsuba is of solid iron and the habaki is made of brass. A black lacquered and polished wooden scabbard with cord-wrapping houses the blade. Also included with the Shikoto Longquan Master Katana is a certificate of authenticity with forging specifications, signed by the master swordsmith who crafted the blade. When you hold a Shikoto Hammer-Forged Longquan Master sword in your hand, you are holding the same weapon a warrior used more than 2,500 years ago.
