For the price this blade hard to beat. I recieved my Golden Leaf Katana for Christmas. Since then I have used mine to cut through 1 inch thick Black Locust saplings (very dense hardwood) along with my favorite target, Power-ade jugs with no damage to the blade. I purchased one for my daughter and so far no issues with it either. I was a bit disappointed that there were no smith-marks on the tangs, but for the price it's a small complaint. If you are wanting a sword for basic cutting practice the two we have, have not failed.
I'm sure most if not every other one of these swords that gets put in the market are truly works of art, but the one I got had to have been either for some young american punk who doesn't know any better or severely over looked. There were no markings on the tang for one and the blade had some imperfections, one in particular was right where the sweet spot is on the blade which after just a few tests with water bottles it bent in a S curve. Hmmm. My girlfriend was more disappointed because she is the one who bought it for me. Knowing the blade and martial arts meant so much to me and that it wasn't functional broke her heart. On the bright side of things true swords offered to pay shipping to send it back and said they will replace the whole sword. When and if this happens I shall text a new rewiew. I'm sure this time I will have a more positive commit.
