This 40" daito is an ideal practice sword to safely practice your sword skills while protecting your self and partners. Constructed from hardwood and includes two piece handguard. Great for training!

Bokken is a training sword, used as a relatively safe and inexpensive substitute for a real blade in several martial arts. They are used in the early stages of iaido when a practitioner has not yet reached the level where use of a iaito would be safe. The exception would be when a certain kata involving two people is performed. Then the veteran iaidoka will use a bokken for safety reasons.

Great for solo practicing or light sparring, but the guard is a little loose. For the price, it is worth buying.

Got this some time ago, and just catching up on my reviews. These are great for what they are. The look beautiful, have a nice weight, and whether up on display, or when swinging them around, have a good feel to them. The guard piece is a bit loose, and I couldn't actually slide those rubber bits on the blade, so I have them on the ends of the blade with similar-colored hair ties securing the guards down at the bottom and are hardly noticeable. So all in all, I'm very satisfied!

Very, very good Bokkens. The weight is about the same as a Katana, if not a bit heavier, and comes with Guards that you put on to resemble a traditional Katana. (Although, Katana Guards are there so that you don't cut yourself while handling the sword, compared to a cross guard where it is there to protect the user from other swords). Thank you, True swords. 5 Stars.

For the price I doubt you will find a better set. However, the tsuba slide up and become loose easily during sparring. The black one is heavier and a bit longer with a shorter grip [I use it for exercises, and the natural one for actual sparring]. Overall it's a good product, and great for starting out.

Exactly what I wanted and expected. Incredibly good quality for the price. The natural wood one is slightly heavier than the black one, which I don't mind at all, since it gives you a little diversity. The tsuba are a little loose, but it is not an issue at all, as I am wrapping the handles with sports tape for grip and a small amount in the right place fixes the issue. There was an issue with shipping (my fault, as I put mixed the shipping and billing addresses), and I contacted this site and they were Extremely helpful and understanding. Couldn't be happier with the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking to have some fun. :)

I ordered it in the mail about 3 days ago! I was surprised it came this fast! I was actually disappointed in them. The natural one is beautiful! The black one on the other hand looks half assed. It isn't nearly as smooth as the natural one. It is also about an inch and a half longer than the natural. I am not sure if it is due to the extra length but it also feels quite a bit heavier. The black one will be the first to get tested out because I almost don't want to mess up the beauty of the natural bokken! All-in-all, if you are just starting out like me then it is definitely worth the $15.99!

These bokken are well made and strong for such a low price. Igot them because I was thinking of starting some kendo training. No problems exept that the natural bokken is a little lighter brown then expected but that no problem

Awesome weapons. For practice sparing, they up VERY well and could potentially be lethal because they're so sturdy. Solid construction and haven't even cracked and i've had em for a year and a half (fighting with them almost every week). Balance is not as accurate as the description would claim, and the tsuba and habbaki are loose, but it's only a mild bother. Very nice swords and a great buy, worth the money.
