  • 29 3/8" 1055 high carbon steel blade
  • Black cord-wrapped handle
  • Brass menuki
  • Overall Length: 40 3/4"

In our efforts to reduce the costliness of the blades, we have omitted the expensive mirror polishing that we used on the Imperial swords to create a new series of Japanese swords with a more practical finish. The Warrior Series swords are very handsome in their own right and share the same steel, heat treatment, and sharpness as their more expensive Imperial counterparts. Like the Imperial swords, they have Samé covered, cord wrapped handles and quality fittings. If you’re in the market for a strong, good looking, reasonably priced Japanese sword we know you’ll be happy to own one of these. All come complete with a BLACK LACQUERED SCABBARD and a BLUE/VIOLET COVER BAG. Features a 29 3/8" 1055 High Carbon steel blade with a black braid cord with brass Menuki. Also includes black lacquered wood scabbard. 40 3/4" overall

Better than the Damascus counterparts Reviewed by David DeGraff on Feb 13, 2018   5 out of 5

I was doing a little research on katanas and whizashis as to there real strength. Luckily I am a PhD in Material Science. We invested $25,000 on 13 Katanas and 11 Whizashis the cold steel 1060 (its actually 1060 not the before mentioned 1055. I was rooting for this sword being that cold steel claimed the same precision as their emperor series $1000+ by not completely polishing the blade. Dont get me wrong a TON of effort goes into turning a wartier series into an emperor series or better. Well after 45 days of honing and preparing the warrior Katana up to my sacred 20,000grit whetstone starting at 600. Whoa this Baby light up like a mirror so on with the tests the prepared warrior katana vs the compassion . So me and a fellow sword master get to testing. Head d to head combat sword vs sword edge vs edge. 13000 lawyer 1060 steel was the most expensive at $3,000. One slice vs my warrior and the $3000 blade is now 2-$1500 pieces of crap 5 other damascus 4000+ layer high carbon folded steel blades from real sword distributors all fell at the hands of the polished warrior. There were other easy foes, 1045 didn't stand a chance and 1095 shattered. TS-10, warped and cracked, a magnesium tungsten mixed breed held up to 1 blade on blade, the second encounter, theWarrior sliced through it like it ws taunting it, lol. No seriously the Finale test was head to head with the emperor series cold steel Katana expertly polished by cold stew . They met bade to bkade20 times until my warrior took it down...partly because im bettor than my sparring partner, but give it to Cold Steel and this almost finished Warrior!!. Tore through cinder blocks like a bottle of water. Enjoyed be safe

This Cold Steel blade is amazing, stunning and extremely durable. Check out csknives on YouTube, find the "Warriors Cold Steel Katana" video, it proves just how strong the blade is and how sharp it is. It would fit any situation, maybe an apocalypse (zombie apocalypse of course), this thing will slash and dice zombie after zombie, after zombie, after zombie, after zombie, after zombie. I extremely recommend this to anyone looking forward to the apocalypse.

Respect this Blade Reviewed by Christopher Thompson on Oct 26, 2015   5 out of 5

Cold steel did a good job with this katana, which is exceptional example of a practical use weapon without have to pay a pre-$1000 cost. It will never replace a weapon made by a Japanese Master, but most are not looking for that kind of quality. Overall workmanship is excellent, and all fittings are tight (almost too tight). Things not to do: "I just took it out to trim my tree in the back yard unlike most buyers i use my blades and it did a real good job going through 2" to 2.5" of solid wood." This is not what this type of sword was designed for in any respect, nor the proper stance, training, or form. People like this should be drug out into the street and shot.

Very well made. Thumbs up for True Swords customer service. I wish all companies were this good. Fastestest shipping time, like less than a hour after ordering.

Ordered this sword with extremely high expectations, when I unboxed it it wasn't very sharp at all, except for the tip area. Other than the lack of a razor edge though it was extremely tight and I mean tight, it feels like you could chop through a car hood, wait they did that in the "proof video" already, lol.

Anyway, it feels very good, it is heavier than most katanas I have owned but in a way it's a good thing, it's not too heavy as to unbalance it (as some people say). I like how Cold Steel did their own customizing to the handle and tsuba and not just the stereotypical decorative crap ya usually see on swords.

So as for the sharpness, it didn't take me long to put a razor edge on it, and I do mean razor, after I was done I ran it down my forearm...not very smart since it shaved a big line of hair off my arm. My fiancee was watching me and yelled at me, lol.

Even though it shaved me that well, I wanted it even sharper, so a little more honing, next test was my left leg, upon running it down my leg it actually broke my skin! Wow! So yeah, I think it's sharp enough now, lol.

Awesome sword, awesome service and awesome shipping speed, literally next day it was in my hands. Good job Cold Steel, and good job

BTW I did kind of pitch a hissy fit to customer service on here for it not being razor sharp out of the box and I was given a 20.00 refund for my incoveniance, that's what I call customer service. all the way baby!

I ordered this sword a couple of weeks ago didn't take to long before it arrived at my door. I just took it out to trim my tree in the back yard unlike most buyers i use my blades and it did a real good job going through 2" to 2.5" of solid wood. Its a little on the heavy side but it really adds to the cutting power you would look for. if your not afraid to mess up $300 dollars i would recommend this katana to any one looking for a good blade. Not only good but pretty sharp looking too!

a very decent sword for training. not really a show piece but can be. I would recommend buying the imperial version; a lot more detail and shined blade.

I ordered this sword about a year ago and out of the dozens that I own it is completely unrivaled. The blade is absolutely beautiful, in a deadly sort of way, as it is sharp enough to cut a piece of paper drifting to the ground clean in half with no effort as well as the durability and hardness to cut into the hardest wood and rock (Though I wouldn't encourage either. Doing so would destroy the toughest of blades.) Due to the hundreds of hours I have put it through however, I have disturbed the beautifully and comfortably wrapped handle, and it's only prone weakness is to unravel at one of the intricately tied knots where the wrap meets the pommel. I am still enthralled with this blade to this day and recommend it to anyone wishing to have an heirloom quality katana that is practically indistinguishable from the legendary swords that were used in Japan.
