A very fun axe. I hadn't realized the merits of a short/bladed axe until now. Its very easy to swing and I can chop all day as compared to my cold steel kukri. The things that bugged me were as follows:- they screwed the locking pin into the handle all the way past the metal, so the blade was rattling right from the start. I remedied this by spinning the blade around so the pin hit the fresh wood on the other side of the handle.- the coating on the axe is SUPER hard to get off. I have been hand sanding it for hours with 150 grit and it is not even close to clean. This is a major plus if you want the black coating on it, as it wont come off with anything.- the handle was carved down a bit too much to start with, so the blade rattled in the position it was in. To fix this I shaved down the top of the handle a bit so the blade slid up a bit more into a pressure fit.Overall more than worth the money. Just be prepared to prepare it for a little while before whacking away on stuff.
True Swords is, in my opinion, one of the top 4 sites on the 'Net....The Ammo Bank for ammunition, New Egg for computer parts, PyramidAir for air guns of all kinds and now True Swords...Fast, courteous service...unbelievable prices...they sell Cold Steel products for less than Cold Steel. I was sent the Norse Hawk by mistake...it was corrected immediately and courteously; now I have 2 Tomahawks that are the best working tomahawks at very very reasonable prices that I have been able to find anywhere. The Norse Hawk shines as a thrower and fighting hawk, and my new baby...the Trail Hawk is every bit as good a thrower and with a well radius-ground hammer poll, is the camp tool I have been looking for for over a year...and I didn't have to spend well over $100 for a Smatchet. Thanks again True Swords! I am a customer for life.
