These were the 1st martial arts weapons I have owned since having lots of shuriken and knives as a kid (much more freedom back in those days). When I got them, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. i did not realize that the red eyes were painted--I thought they were some imitation rubies or something, but it looks like a couple smudges of nail polish in person. Also, one of the sai was slightly curved, but that was not a deal breaker, since I won't be taking these into battle to disarm any baddies. They're fine for wall hanging, which is where I have them, next to my hook swords. You must be careful if you hang these on the wall where they may touch. The back of the skull's heads will make marks on a white wall if you're not careful.
i love the weight and feel of these, and sais are one of the weapons i have wanted to add to my collection for a long time, i also love the beautiful detail of the skeletal features
