Based on the Vietnam Tomahawk the new Fusion Tactical Tomahawk is an extreme evolution of the original, which was considered one of the more unusual weapons of its day. Today there is a real need for a versatile tool for breaching operations, excavation, obstacle removal, extraction, and other utility applications.

The 420 stainless steel head with "Hardcased coating" is mounted to the fiberglass & nylon blend handles with heavy-duty bolts and a steel ferrule to keep the wood from splitting. Side hammer checking insures precise placement when pounding. Carried in a nylon sheath, this is a universal tool for the modern man. 15.75 in. overall.

Absolutely excellent! Strong and well built. I trust it so much I keep it by my bed just in case. I highly recommend if you want a good tomahawk or if you just want to have some fun!

just got it today i already love it. it looks amazing i went to the yard and hacked a couple tree limbs down. it cut very good, don't recommend it for that due to the spike on the back but i had to use it for something. all in all a good tomahawk.

Just got this today. I live in Georgia, so it didn't take long to get here. It came very well packaged. There was practically no way it could have gotten damaged during shipping.

The tomahawk, itself, is smaller than I thought it would be. At first, I had thought I was actually sent the smaller version, the "Fast Hawk", by mistake. I measured it, though, and saw that is the correct one. The blade is very surprisingly sharp, too. It actually cut paper very easily, so I am very pleased with it. I just hope it will hold its edge well enough. That's what I was worried about, being that it's made of 420 stainless steel, as opposed to something with a higher carbon content. As far as balance goes, it balances approximately 3" from the head, and has a nice amount of heft for chopping and cleaving blows with a small weapon. The handle is pretty comfortable, albeit a bit narrower than I thought it would be. I have fairly large hands, so I wish it was a bit bigger, but even so, it's not bad. With bare hands, I can keep a fairly firm grip on it, and with gloves, it'll be great. Another nice plus is that if the handle should ever break (unlikely, but possible), it wouldn't be difficult to replace.

Even for a small weapon, it packs a great deal of power. I took a couple swings at the cardboard packaging it came in, still stuffed with packing paper, the other box, and styrofoam. I know it's not an ideal cutting target, but its what I had, and I didn't feel like trying it on anything tougher. The spike punctured all the way through to the other side of the box effortlessly. The blade is what really wowed me, though. The blade sunk its way into it all the way to the handle with little effort. Unfortunately, it did scuff the blade (only the part that doesn't have the black coating), which I expected with cardboard. That will easily be polished out, though. The black coating was completely unaffected. I don't feel that it would split wood well, because it lacks enough mass for the chopping power. It's not made for that, anyway. Perhaps if it didn't have the two holes in the blade, it might be capable of that, but I feel that this was primarily meant as a combat weapon/survival tool.

Finally, the sheath is very secure, and seems quite sturdy. It looks like it is double stitched. The snap enclosures are very secure. The sheath also seems to be designed well, and I don't think it will scuff, scratch, or dull the blade.

Overall, it is a nice little weapon and tool that should perform its job nicely, and is definitely worth the money, especially being something made by SOG. I only wish that it was just a bit bigger, and perhaps that it was made with a better steel. Still, for this price point, it is a great value, and you pretty much know it will be good, as it's made by SOG.

    My score: 9/10

This tomahawk is fantastic. It comes very sharp out of the box, and has a very nice feel to it. It chops down trees like nothing, and the spike penetrates deep. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a nice tomahawk to have and possibly throw.

Just got my tomahawk. I must say that its a little heavier than I expected but its not to heavy. A beautiful piece of work. It came really sharp. The handle is not wood though its a tough plastic. I give it a five star ratting. True swords came through once again.

great buy! razor sharp right out of the package. makes an awesome whiring sound through the air when thrown.
holds it's own as a tool. I took it with me when I went camping. chops well not because of it's weight but because it's sooo sharp.
the only thing I don't like is the sheath. when I went for a walk every time I jumped down from something the tomahawk came out from it's sheath. other then that, though, it is amazing.

DUDE, this thing rocks!!! A little heavier than I expected, but its awesome to throw. Doesnt chop very well, but tomahawks were meant to be thrown for the most part! A very nice product!
