I had the same problem ken this blade just isn't good for a fight if anything its a novelty sword meant to be hung on display
Broke after 10 mins off soft play compared to the things I have done the other blades from this site..... Don't waste ur time .... Blade is bent in an S shape ..... And even after I modified it with steel re-bar and a welder it still was such a cheap quality blade that the force of the first hit caused it to bend
this is very very nice! i would expect to pay 70 to 100 dollars for this item. it begs its own unique style, so dont treat it like a sword or a spear. this is somthing i definetly would not want to be on the wrong end of. the only thing i have a problem with is the sheathe, which can fly off if i swing just right. it doesnt matter how tight i make it. but otherwise i have no problems with this. thankyou trueswords!
Pretty nice. I can't say it's the best, nor that I'd trust it in battle, but it will go great with my pirate costume, and will look good on my wall. Worth the price for something as cool looking as it is.
just a big mean piece of steel :P
I just recently bought this to stress test it and I think it is a fair weapon. It is indeed high carbon but it is not very dense, and the metal is soft enough to where it bent after a few whacks at a tree. The blood grooves on mine were fake, only scratched onto the surface. The point is sharp enough and it is a heavy weapon. The wood is not staind, but it gives a nice rustic look. The ring is solidly attached, but not part of the tang. It seems to have wood or plastic rivets holding the blade inside the handle. The cord is nicely wrapped, and it is easy enough to sharpen this with a diamond stone. The metal guard fits snuggly, and sharpened the blade can do heavy damage, but requires either constant sharpening for a razor edge or a 10-15 degree hunting edge. The tang runs most of the length of the shaft but is not a full profile tang, more of that of an arkansa toothpick knife. The spine of the blade runs an impressive quarter inch. Should the shaft split, the blade makes for a nice scmitar
This naginata is pretty thick and heavy, so much so when a buddy of mine swung it it the tang split the handle....the wraps come unglued if you play with it at all.....and the tip came bent, prolly a shipping thing but the box was fine.....all in all a neat lil guy but if you're thinking about the zombie Apocalypse like i was when I got this guy, this is one to leave behind........does work great for training as the weight of the thing helps show you how to swing and follow-through a lil better, once training with this thing a katana feels like a flyswatter and you'll be better with youre speed.........also the handle is like 3 feet shorter than traditional and the blade is much bigger than practical if youre wanting an old school practical one
Shipped and delieved extremely fast, I am VERY impressed. My fiancee is going to love it, thank you so much, will definetely be buying from again!
This naginata is an interesting weapon to be sure. I am a big fan of weapons of this type, and was pleasantly surprised by this weapon. word to the wise on this one- If you are planning on using this weapon (like actually USING it), you need to know what you're doing. It is a very heavy weapon and the style you use to fight with it isn't very instinctive. I offer this warning because without proper training, it would be very easy to hurt yourself with this weapon. I mentioned that it was heavy, and I meant it. The weapon feels fairly normal when you pick it up and swing it a few times, but any prolonged practice or sparring leaves you absolutely exhausted. It's a really great workout, and will make you a stronger fighter, but will also help to improve your technique- you will find ways to let gravity and momentum do your work for you, instead of moving this big piece of steel all by yourself.Overall, quite a good buy, certainly a different experience, but very heavy
I am in love with this weapon. With its massive blade and unique design this is a great piece to add to your collection.Although it has a lot of great quality to there is one weak spot to this weapon. The hilt is not strong enough to hold together it will break after a strong attack.
