I got this one quite a while back and figured I'd give a review now that I'm looking at getting some more bleach related swords. It is massive, I'd say pretty fking accurate to the anime. It's very study and won't ever be breaking on you, that of course comes at the cost of weight (super heavy). Overall I'd say this was a fantastic purchase. Only complaints I have would be that the black part is all 1 thickness where I think it would be better if it got a bit thicker towards the edge of the blunt side. Also where the black meets the white part of the blade it is not quite perfectly straight/alligned, but it's only noticeable from inches away. 9/10
I never watched Bleach, where this sword originated from, but I still love it. I got it because it was the closet thing I could find to Pyramid Head's sword from Silent Hill. Needs a lot of muscle to properly wield it, but it is not too difficult! Very intimidating sword too. Love this to death! Do not underestimate the size of it for it is huge!
It certainly is a good sword its not particularly sharp except for the tip. It does have a tendency to rust a little bit in places around the blades edge more then likely due to a lower amount of carbon in that region the cloth on the back is also a bit loose. although it is a very sturdy sword can take a beating and is worth the money unless you don't want a heavy sword if that is the case it is not the sword for you. Also because of it being off balanced it seems heavier than it actually is
This sword is awesome. It showed up Tuesday afternoon. It is big and awesome.
Let me start by saying you will not be disappointed by the size of this sword. It truly is a hulking monstrosity of a weapon. If you're having any sort of doubt or qualms about it's size, and are worried it may be too small to satisfy you - you're wrong. The Zangetsu is likely to become the center piece of any collection due to it's size and intimidating appearance - it will make a wonderful display piece assuming you have something that can support it's immense weight. However, you will want something to cover up the large unsightly "CHINA" label on the blade. This is the second sword from true swords I've received that had one of these display ruining labels on it. I understand True Swords has little control over where they print their labels...But right on the blade where anyone looking at the side of it will see? Upon very close inspection, anyone experienced in sword craftsmanship will be able to tell this piece was made by crushing a large heated piece of carbon steel into the desired shape. One side is cut out perfectly to replicate the shape of the Zangetsu, however the other side is slightly flatter and this creates an uneven edge on the blade. For 49.99 however, this is the best Zangetsu online - don't bother going to Amazon as theirs is smaller. The shipping kicks the price up to around 70 bucks, which isn't awful but I'm still happy with the amount I spent for the quality I received. For practical use it's great, but it could be better. As the other reviews mention the cloth wrap comes unraveled very quickly after only light use - It's very easy to re-wrap but you're likely to lose that cool canon Bleach look with the cloth hanging all the down straight off the blade. The handle is made of what appears to be two pieces of wood affixed to the blade by glue and cloth. Definitely not anyone's first choice but it's held up to quite a bit of regular use from me. The shape of the hilt is very flat, which is canon to the anime but makes it a little more difficult to grip and wield when compared to a normal sword. Practicing with it will undoubtedly increase your grip strength because of this - which is a plus for me.The blade isn't sharp at all, but that's probably a good thing - due to the sheer weight anyone weak or inexperienced could easily hack off their own limb.As one might expect, the size of the blade when compared to the hilt off centers the balance of the sword. Most of the weight is concentrated in the thickest part of the blade about 4-5 inches from the hilt. If you grip the hilt tightly at the top, and smack the bottom of it the blade wobbles. This could be fixed by making the hilt slightly longer (As it needs to be, I find myself gripping almost on the blade to retain full control.) and adding more thickness to the sword over all. This would probably prevent most people from even being able to swing it.If you plan on swinging this thing around regularly - I'd highly recommend purchasing some kind of gloves (e.g. heavy weight lifting gloves) or at least hand wraps otherwise it will destroy your hands. Overall I'd give this purchase a 8/10 on my true scale, the cost and quality makes it the best Zangetsu available that I'm aware of. I've seen several others, all made of stainless steel or significantly smaller. If you're a Bleach fan this is a must buy; or just want an insane looking piece to spice up your collection look no further.
This sword is big! when I came I was really happy and I overlooked its errors. It is great and all but It came with a huge bend in it that made the tip of the sword about half an inch off in relation to the handle. I still love it but I can't even bend it myself because the metal is to thick and I don't have anything to heat the blade with. Its a great buy, but be weary you could get a bent one like me.
I bought this sword with skepticism in mind but when I got it I was surprised. It is exactly as described and very manageable considering its massive size. I would recommend this product to any bleach fan, or weapon collector. A great buy at a good price.
Amazing Sword! I just wish it came with a sheath. I look for sheaths online but no luck. You could make your own but it would take a little of your time. But overall awesome sword. Training with it is rough but you will see the benefits. Thanks TS!
amazing sword, the only thing that could make it better is if it were sharpened.
My fav sword of all time. Came in great condition and worth every penney. thank you for making a good full tang blade.
