While this flashy and decorated samurai-style fan appears innocent to the untrained eye, it is only one flick of the wrist away from becoming deadly. No fine bamboo or pakkawood supports here, instead hardened strips of stainless steel hold the fan's body. Not designed for repetitive cutting use, the fan lies in wait for the perfect moment to deliver an unexpected strike.

Our metal kung fu fan features traditional Chinese dragon artwork with Yin Yang center piece with golden dragon handle accent.

The opened dimensions are 14 3/4 in. tall by 27 1/4 in. wide, and the fan weighs a hefty 8 oz.

I got this fan as a gift for a girl on her birthday. Before I raped it I was looking at it, and it was surprisingly very well put together, and had a good weight to it. The design was remarkable, and well illustrated. She loved it, and was begging for another one. I highly recommend this product.

Shipping speed: I ordered two of these on Oct. 12, 2011, and received them on Oct. 15. Shipping on any item is always quick from Trueswords, so that gets a 5.

General look: Each fan came in a separate plastic pouch, with a little snap on a flap to hold them in it.

The fans themselves look nice for what the price is on them. The blue "fan" part is made of a plastic type of material, and is simply glued onto the steel supports on one side only; They are not sleeved into the fan like most traditional fans are made.

Regarding the steel supports, the two thickest are on the ends of the fan. Each of the interior supports, however, are very thin, and very flexible. All of the supports are held in place by a rivet near the bottom of the fan. On one of the fans I had, the rivet was very loose; The other was fairly tight.

The white dragon prints and ying-yang symbol are a nice little touch. The dragons are fairly cartoony, though. On one of the fans, the paint was also smudged in different parts, along with a few visible finger prints within one of the dragons. There was also some traces of glue here and there all over one of the fans.

Despite the small complications on them, the fans are nice for the price. Battle ready wise, I wouldn't give them a thumbs up, but for a display piece, or something fun to show to your friends, they're perfect.

Overall, I'll give these a 4. Nice price, but they suffer from general negligence upon assembly, but that's usually accepted within this price range.
