    About Musashi:

Miyamoto Musashi was a famous Japanese swordsman and is believed to have been one of the most skilled swordsmen in history. Musashi, as he is often simply known, became legendary through his outstanding swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age. He is the founder of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu, or Niten Ryu style of swordsmanship and wrote Go Rin No Sho, The Book of Five Rings, a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today.

Musashi writes about his first duel:
"I have trained in the way of strategy since my youth, and at the age of thirteen I fought a duel for the first time. My opponent was called Arima Kihei, a sword adept of the Shinto ryu, and I defeated him. At the age of sixteen I defeated a powerful adept by the name of Akiyama, who came from the prefecture of Tajima. At the age of twenty-one I went up to Kyoto and fought duels with several adepts of the sword from famous schools, but I never lost." -Musashi Miyamoto, Go Rin No Sho

It is notable that Musashi died of what is believed to be thoracic cancer, and was not killed in combat. He died peacefully after finishing the Dokkodo ("The Way of Walking Alone", or "The Way of Self-Reliance"), 21 precepts on self-discipline to guide future generations.

After his death various legends began to appear. Most talk about his feats in kenjutsu and other martial arts, some describing how he was able to hurl men over 5 feet backwards, other about his speed and technique. Other legends tell of how Musashi killed giant lizards in Echizen, as well as Nues in various other prefectures. He gained the stature of Kensei, a "sword saint" for his mastery in swordsmanship. Some believed he could run at super-human speed, walk on air, water and even fly through the clouds.

I was very displeased with what I got. It came bent and used, It was the sword displayed but it would seem it got past quality assurance, I've read good things on this site but what I got is most definitely not what I wanted and for what i paid for it I am displeased to say the least. I called the customers service line and asked for a refund, kinda sucks I don't get my shipping back. Took a while for them to get the package but oh well. buy at your own risk. Defective things get by.

This is an amazing sword! It is made with the utmost quality and attention to detail. The blade came well polished and oiled. The saya was immaculate and the handle was too. The tsuba is very thick and sturdy and the details on it are very nice. The weight of it is great and for the price you cannot get a better sword. I highly recommend this one.

This is the second Musashi of this series I have bought, comparing the two side by side and I am pleasantly surprised at how much hand work goes into these, at this price...WOW! Even the signatures on the tangs are different, not just a generic stamp from the company

Got this one it is great I ordered two swords so it took about 5 or 6 days to get here but the support was amazing got to love true swords and the katana was amazing especially great for the price to explain the sharpness all I have to say is the Christmas tree had no branches when I was done with it.

An amazing katana. The balance is at just the right point in the blade. The edge and finish on all sides and angles of the blade are flawless. I bought this because my other swords have wimpy tsuba. This one is awesome. Nice and fat, but fits nicely into its fuchi without rattling or moving at all, even after slicing and dicing some two and four inch bamboo.

I have some more expensive and exotic swords, but they are just wall orniments. This one has pride of place next to my front door as the primary home defense tool!

Thanks True Swords. Keep on bringing us value like this, and we will keep you in business.

Mine came razor sharp and makes a swoosh sound when swung. For $80 this is the best deal on a sword I could find anywhere. Hand forged, water tempered, true hamon real rayskin, a great sword. If you don't own it you should.

I'm speechless. Virtually incoherent with pleasure. I had read the reviews on SBG and had to have one. Ordered it yesterday afternoon and have it today. It's my first katana and it sets a ridiculous standard. It is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
