    About Musashi:

Miyamoto Musashi was a famous Japanese swordsman and is believed to have been one of the most skilled swordsmen in history. Musashi, as he is often simply known, became legendary through his outstanding swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age. He is the founder of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu, or Niten Ryu style of swordsmanship and wrote Go Rin No Sho, The Book of Five Rings, a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today.

Musashi writes about his first duel:
"I have trained in the way of strategy since my youth, and at the age of thirteen I fought a duel for the first time. My opponent was called Arima Kihei, a sword adept of the Shinto ryu, and I defeated him. At the age of sixteen I defeated a powerful adept by the name of Akiyama, who came from the prefecture of Tajima. At the age of twenty-one I went up to Kyoto and fought duels with several adepts of the sword from famous schools, but I never lost." -Musashi Miyamoto, Go Rin No Sho

It is notable that Musashi died of what is believed to be thoracic cancer, and was not killed in combat. He died peacefully after finishing the Dokkodo ("The Way of Walking Alone", or "The Way of Self-Reliance"), 21 precepts on self-discipline to guide future generations.

After his death various legends began to appear. Most talk about his feats in kenjutsu and other martial arts, some describing how he was able to hurl men over 5 feet backwards, other about his speed and technique. Other legends tell of how Musashi killed giant lizards in Echizen, as well as Nues in various other prefectures. He gained the stature of Kensei, a "sword saint" for his mastery in swordsmanship. Some believed he could run at super-human speed, walk on air, water and even fly through the clouds.

As a blacksmith and a Japanese weapons enthusiast Musashi has done a great job on these! From the differential hardening (which I did test), blade flex, edge retention and balance (from the distal taper) is outstanding. I will be sending all those customers who ask me to make them swords to True Swords. I will be ordering another one to add to my collection very soon.

    I love this sword.
As soon as I pulled It out of the Saya(loved the red color by the way) The blades hamon was amazing and it came sharp! and I mean sharp (I Already cut stuff it was awesome!) And the Detail is beautiful. Unshu Mikan means Honey Citrus and that's why the tsuba looks like a fruit.
But this sword is a 5/5 Great sword and recommend it for starters and experts alike.

The first sword I received was damaged in the shipping process and True Swords did an amazing job on correcting the problem, answering all my questions and getting a replacement sword to me in two days!

If you think the image of this Katana is good looking online, it’s just as amazing out of the box. The red Saya (scabbard) comes in this glossy crimson color, it’s just stunning in appearance. The braid (Ito) is wrapped tight and it feels amazing in your hands. This sword came with minimal grease on it and the sword fits very tight in the Saya. The guard (Tsuba) is very simple in design but does give it some style. Everything is tight on the Katana and I’m very happy with this purchase. It comes in a black/red Musashi box, black bag and Musashi Certificate.

This sword is similar in design to the ‘Musashi 1060 Carbon Steel – Best Miyamoto’ Katana except for the Tsuba and Saya color is the only differences. If you’re a fan of the Best Miyamoto then you’ll also like this sword. This is my first sword and I did my research to find the best Katana in my price range and I’m very impressed by the Musashi series. I rate this 5/5 of on this item!

this sword is an amazing work of art that surpasses my collecton. everything from the stuka to the seppa and habaki is secure and snug. the saya is the most amazing red u will ever see, almost electric in sunlight

now all u have to do to keep this beauty nice and strong is wipe off the factory oil it comes with and apply a thin even layer of mineral oil of many kinds. this is a very nice blade

the blade is evenly balanced through the middle and expertly done, and the blade will whistle showing the cut is perfectly aligned with the ha.

great must have sword, will buy soon!! musashi is the best ever

AWESOME!!! This is my first musashi sword and my first REAL katana. Very nice piece- it comes wrapped in a nice black sword bag and when you pull it out, it's got a very beautiful, deep red (mahagony) saya, which the blade fits into nicely. The tsuba is simple, yet in a cool, stylish way and is made of aluminum. Comes with all that is labeled and it's pretty sharp. The ito wrap feels nice and secure and the dual bamboo pegs make for a durable blade. It was a little greasy when I pulled it out of the saya but that keeps it in good condition, and besides it whipes off easily. Overall, I give this a 5 out of 5. It's a wonderful sword and i'm truly impressed with the value and quality. Thanks Trueswords!
