These lightweight foam nunchucks are perfect for beginners new to nunchucks as well as pros training for new moves. PVC pipe cores with a thick foam covering, these are designed not to cause damage if they strike your body. The golden Japanese dragon insignia and metal chain assembly gives them a genuine martial arts look and sound. They measure 30" in overall length and weigh about 9 oz. Nunchaku History:Although the certain origin of nunchaku is disputed, it is thought to come from China through the Japanese island of Okinawa. The Japanese word nunchaku itself comes from the Hokkien (Min Nan) word nng-chiat-kun(no-chiat kun). When viewed etymologically from its Okinawan roots, nun comes from the word for twin, and chaku from shaku, a unit of measurement. The popular belief is that the nunchaku was originally a short flail used to thresh rice or soybeans (that is, separate the grain from the husk). It is also possible that the weapon was developed in response to the moratorium on edged weaponry under the Satsuma daimyo after invading Okinawa in the 17th century, and that the weapon was most likely conceived and used exclusively for that end, as the configuration of actual flails and bits are unwieldy for use as a weapon. Also, peasant farmers were forbidden conventional weaponry such as arrows or blades so they improvised using only what they had available, farm tools such as the sickle. The modern weapon would be an ineffective flail. The nunchaku as a weapon has surged in popularity since martial artist Bruce Lee used it in his movies in the 1970s, and is also featured in multiple Japanese anime and manga series.

These nunchakus trainers were pretty good. These are my first pair, and they have good weight to them, preparing for heavier, real nunchakus. They also have a nice grip and design! I would recommend this for a customer.
I have bought foam chucks before, these are much better quality than I expected, good weight, good for middle school aged kids (and me).
The nunchucks were fantastic I pretty much them through hell and high water, so to speak, and my only concern is how soon I needed to replace the plastic core. All together this was a wonderful product though, and it's a perfect training tool or introduction to nunchucks.
crotches beware.. great items, especially for their price
Just a described, PErfect for practice and i shall be lookin foward to getting better with these...
Really great especially for beginners to get used to nunchaku's, decent weight the only thing i would say is that they are a little bigger then i thought they would be but besides that a great buy and ohh yes they do hurt if u spnn then fast and make a mistake and get hit but not as bad as some wooden ones haha but yes really great buy and good for beginners
These are really good for training. When others say that they don't hurt, I think they mean compared to the real ones. But great buy; and like everyone else said, the design rubs off pretty fast. Nice arm workout too.
Oh Man, These Are Awesome! I Purchased The Steel Nunchaku Also But I Don't Train As Hard With Them As I Do With Foam Nunchaku. These Are The Best Things Since Sliced Bread! I Suggest Buying 2 Because When You Get Skilled You Can Use 2 Simultaneously. It Takes Practice But The Foam Makes It Less Risky. I Also Purchased The Dual Set Of Hardwood For This Reason. http://www.trueswords.com/nunchaku-classic-black-hardwood-grip-p-5193.htmlhttp://youtu.be/nxjbrOANMCM
In a minute I'll explain you the pro's and con's of this product. This came as my first purchase. This Nunchaku is perfect for practice; it doesn't hurt as much as a metal one. Pros: Foam lessens the impact of the weapon. Easy to grip even for someone with medium or small size hands. Cons: the Paint will wear off soon or later. (Nothing lasts forever, everything deteriorates.) I say its 5.
Really good pair of trainers here as you hear the graphic does rub off fairly fast only took me a day to rub half of it off after constant use but who cares your looking at this most likely cause u wanna learn how to use them right.which means this last until you get good and get a hard pair. good weight it wont hurt when you wack yourself or a friend unless you really put some power behind it. i give it a 5.
