How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Automatic Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

A great knife, got this 2 days after ordering. Blade is firm when in locked position. Very pleased with True swords and definitely doing business with them in the future!

Just got this in the mail today. I was expecting the material to be cheap, but it's actually very construct. I'm very pleased with it. Very practical survival usage. Very sturdy at a great price!

i got this knife for a fatherday gift. shipping was fast came in day before (bad planing on my part...)
the knife is a good size and i hope he likes it! it has a nice solid opening when you push the back stud or flick the finger stud.

only problem with it is the paint on the inner jet is already coming off. and it was already scratched up by the screw probably bad luck for me. others could be fine

all in all i would buy this again (this time for me =) good knife nice and solid. sharp out of the box good for the low price!

GREAT knife for the price. Assisted release is perfect, The back of the knife that you cannot see in the picture is all black, the white on the front has an interesting texture that i cannot describe but it is cool. the belt clip is very tight and i have trouble pulling it off when i attach it to my jeans, so i dont. but you can loosen it with an allen wrench, not that big of a deal though. good knife, came sharp, i dig the glass breaker and the cord cutter too.

good knife, its what I expected. its not the most comfortable knife to hold but I've held worse. spring assist works well. I wish the blade didn't have serrations, but it gives it a mean look, and this more or less a survival knife, and serrations can come in handy, actually more like an emergency knife, great to keep in your car. the window breaker and seat belt cutter look good, I haven't tested them but i assume they will do their job fine if it ever comes around. Belt clip is sturdy, kind of getting in the way if its in your left hand, but nothing that can't be over looked. overall its a great spring assist with the Marines theme on it.

A very nice knife. Sharp out of the box. The design isn't white like I'd thought. It's a raised silver design with inset black background. The back is flat black with a belt clip.

The safety release is a bit tougher than my other knives, but the fast, low recoil action is worth it.

A great knife to use or for a display collection.
