How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Automatic Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

This is a overall a good knife, but it came to me scrached the blue part is on one side and its texture like that holografic material just harder but still fairly easy to scratch so if u get it dont put it in ur pocket with something else. I bought the airforce one as well and it wasnt scrached so it may be just mine scrached. The only other downside is that when u hold it sometimes u hit ur hand on the glass breaker but it is sharp, easy to release, and worth the money. My friend even said it is like a switch blade with the button on the side it was 13 dollars to have both this and the airforce knife shipped but it came in 2 business days it is shipped via fedx it comes after regular mail. after u open it a bunch it stars to rub and sctafh away the black but u can tighten up the main screw and it goes back to normal but again it was worth the money.

A price you can not beat this is my first knife and i have to say i'm impressed. The knife is pretty well built and is much bigger then i thought. lets say that if i ever got in a fight in the street i would use this, it comes razor sharp and has a saw edge for cutting rope. The paint job is much better then in the picture as well, it has a shiny metallic finish which does not rub off and this is mostly metal. my only complaint is that after you flip this thing open a few times the flap that pulls open so you can put it back in goes deeper in and gets stuck forcing you to pull really hard on it, not as bad as it sounds but very excellent.

This this is sooooo awesome! The color and design are cool and it's easy to use, once you figure out how to close it. XD And it's super sharp. I was messing around with it and the tip scraped my finger. It barely hurt, but it left a huge cut. Dangerous, but worth it. I love this thing!!
