How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Automatic Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

I bought this knife about a year ago and took it camping and almost everywhere else. Neve had a problem with it at all. Recomend it to anyone.

This knife startled me when I got it. I assure you it's probably going to be longer than what you anticipate.

The blade is very sharp with a faux double edge. It's very long, even when closed, but not too much to be uncomfortable. The spring in this knife is strong enough to get the blade out at an unexpected speed.

As far as the design: it's flawless. Honestly nothing I could say about it.

Like all spring assist knives, the screws that hold it together will loosen over time (if you flip it open and closed regularly). This isn't any real problem. I always recommend buying a tension tool for anyone who owns spring assist knives. TrueSwords has one here: http://www.trueswords.com/spring-assist-tension-speed-adjustment-tool-keychain-p-5321.html

This knife is a work of art, just be careful with it. If you're not used to using spring assisted stiletto knives it may hurt you. My sister opened it her first time and it actually flew out of her hand from the force of the blade coming out.

    A wonderful buy

i cant stand the opening of it the "trigger" to pop out the blade is small and pointy and i may need to adjust mine or something but its very stiff and wont swing all the way out and lock, and the locking mechanism is way too tight just a frustrating knife
