First of its kind Spring Assist knife, this model features the highly sought after out-the-front action. This is a true new production technology spring assist knife, not an illegal stiletto automatic.

Fast action spring assist knives give you a tactical advantage when every second counts.
How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

Had one of these for a good little while. Fun to play with the OTF spring assisted opening mechanism. That is, until it breaks. Mine broke and the blade launches on it's own at nearly random, making it entirely unsuitable for EDC, and nearly unsuitable as a knife.

This knife looks great and feels great in your hand, but I find that it is a little more awkward to open than other spring assist blades.

If only the button to extend the blade was not so far from where your natural thumb position is. I almost need two hands to open her up quickly.

After extensive research and trying out numerous side opening spring assisted knives in person, I decided to give the Schrade a try since it was relatively cheap. I know Schrade's aren't made in the US anymore, but the quality of this knife is great.

The spring action works exactly like it should, no hiccups. It's relatively easy to close one handed if you have the thumb strength. The lock is easy to activate, harder to disengage, but if your thumb has enough of a nail to act for some leverage (mine hardly does), it comes easy enough; I feel safer with it in my pocket with the harder to open lock and a flimsy no good lock that might release the blade and cut down my leg, that's for sure.

The blade is sharp and the handle feels strong in my hand. The only thing I'm going to have to get used to is keeping it and grabbing it from my right pocket, as I'm to carrying my knives in the left pocket. It'd be nice if Schrade found a way to either make a OTF with the clip on the opposite side or one that you could change the clip side on.

Either way, I highly recommend this knife, both to those who have owned spring assisted knives before and the ones with traditional folders looking for something new. Both of you won't be disappointed I think.

this is by far my favorite. quick delivery, and it was 10$ less than what I seen from other sites. this knife has good action, sharp sturdy blade and just looks cool. a must have for any knife collector.

I cant say one bad thing about this one! The action is smooth and responsive, and the blade was sharp! I put a slightly better edge on it and now it will cut through anything! The titanium blade is really strong too. As strong as steel but about half the weight. If you want a light, sharp knife that can be released quickly in a pinch, this is the one for you!!
