First of its kind Spring Assist knife, this model features the highly sought after out-the-front action. This is a true new production technology spring assist knife, not an illegal stiletto automatic.

Fast action spring assist knives give you a tactical advantage when every second counts.

    Product Specifications:

    • Custom design Zytel material handle.
    • First knife of its kind, there is no comparison.
    • Sharpened titanium nitride blade.
    • Features a locking safety.
    • Includes pocket / boot clip.
    • 7 1/2 in. overall opened, 3 in. blade.

How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

This knife was an interesting buy. When I received my package, I was very exited about my orders including this knife. I have some very mixed feelings regarding this. I am a fan of the Assassins Creed Video games and had to buy a knife closest to a "hidden blade" without having to make it. That people is when an OTF knife comes to play. The blade ejects the same way that the "hidden blade" does through the front. I like this knife a lot and I do not disagree with the first person to comment about this knife being nice but, I personally found some problems with it. Let me again say PERSONALLY. The knife is nicely made but it has been created for use of a right handed person. I am left handed. Then again we left handed people will always have to adjust to a world made for the right. Anyway, another thing is that this knife is indeed light weight but the reason for it is because the frame/handle is made out of plastic. It may be a tough plastic, but plastic none the less. Not as aesthetically pleasing to me is all. Either way it is still a good buy, just not what I expected.

The best "spring assisted" OTF knife on the market! lightweight, easy and smooth operation, and the quality and edge you expect from a Schrade knife. the safety is convenient to flick on and off, and guarantees you dont get poked in tje leg when you sit down. Great price, easily worth 50-60$. One of the best tools for any handyman to have in his belt. A good knife to keep in your vehicle as an emergency tool, the center punch is solid, and the one handed operation makes for a good seatbelt cutter. i had to buy two!
