I decided to get these after seeing Batman Begins. After all that ninja stuff with bracers, I HAD to have a set for sparring. I had read the other reviews about the straps being too big, But I figured it would be all right. I wish I had listened. Sure enough, the straps were MUCH too large. Another thing I would have changed is that I would have put two straps with buckles in, not just one. There are five straps, one with an adjustable buckle, and the rest are elastic. I think it needs another buckle. However, I just wore a thick sweater, and then put them on, and they worked reasonably well (except you get hot in Texas wearing a thick sweater-whew!). You should see the damage the spikes did to my brother's sparring sword! Another thing: Those spikes are so sharp, you wouldn't believe it! If you caught somebody's skin, they would do a LOT of damage. So, if you have big arms (I have pretty small arms, by the way), these should work fine. They would also work well for a Batman costume, because they look great, and you'll probably be wearing long sleeves anyway.
fits nicely. well worth the the money. batman fans would love these or just ninja fans.
wicked cool looking probably the ultimate batman fan accessory
a little disappointed with this one. the spikes and plates are fine, but the fitting is not good. they are way to big for my arms and I have average-above average sized arms. the underneath part is stretchy but it's just too loose. it should be smaller so that it can fit normal sized people and stretch to fit bigger people.
Looks really cool. Very Batman feel to it. The only draw back is that you have to wear long sleeves with them. otherwise your arm will be skinned. but it's a small price I suppose.
blades arent sharpened. but still pretty cool.
just got my pair of bracers and the seem to be decently made. Not bad for $19.99. It arrived in three days which is not bad. The spikes on it are awesome. The only thing is that the elastic straps are a little to long to give a nice fit. Unless your forearm is big. But its an easy fix if you have sowing thread. Overall not a bad buy. I give it a 3 out of 5!
pretty disappointing... as long as you put them on the proper arm they're okay, but honestly they're kind of dinky and cheap looking. The plates are small and thin. They look like they could pop off if you get hit hard enough. They'd work nice for a costume, but if you're looking for some heavy-duty bad ass looking gauntlets then I recommend that you save your money and buy something else, like I will be.
I received my order in very quickly...I really like these things, great for any batman, league of shadows ninja outfit...They are a great value for the price tag...However, there were some issues...First I'll talk about how they fit..The straps that stretch around your arm were quite loose on me, and I am a 6ft adult male of normal build. Even over my leather jacket they can slide around some...I shortened them up and re attached them on for a better fit...be ready to do so yourself...What appears to be synthetic leather arm and wrist guard feels nice and provides better coverage once you shorten up the straps...There are only 3 pieces of steel that guard your forearm, and those are attched to the leather by the silver rivets...They are all thin and black metal, dimensions about 6 'L x 1/2"W and about 1/8' thick ...The main piece of metal of the three is the piece that contains the 3 metal defense spikes... The spikes are about the same thickness.. They are not sharp but are very solid and all 3 have been welded very securely together...Now in theory these would mainly be used defensively, as a means to deflecting an opponents attack, whether he is using his hands, a blunt object or an edged weapon...After some sparring sessions with wooden practice swords they quickly began to fail the test in blocking blows...first after absorbing a hit, they will slide around on your arm when stuck...Then the silver metal rivets began popping out of the leather, and before i knew it all of the metal guards were hanging or falling off of the leather... In order to combat this, I had to reattach the metal rivets to the leather with some superadhesive glue...I dont want you to think I dont like these things they are super cool and are great for a costume...not great for defense, but with some creativity and reinforcing could be an effective combat defense piece...
They fit great on my arms and very comfortable, great for blocking blunt objects . great buy will buy again!
