Ordered on the 11th and received on the 15th, but that doesn't really bother me. I mean, I did order this blade on a weekend, after all. I was just excited to get something that would be unique to my still growing collection of different swords, plus the blood details are a nice bonus.

I will admit that I was a little worried regarding the quality of the sword from some of the reviews I had read after making my purchase (quite the idiotic move on my part, since reviews should usually be read first).

I had read that the blood on the saya (sheath/scabbard, whichever word you prefer) is more pink than red, which is a valid complaint and did happen to mine, but it's tolerable. It still looks like blood, which is fine by me. Then I read that white... whatever stuff it is... sticks to the blade when you draw it out, which I'm guessing is due to whatever oil may have been put on the blade. Sure enough, it happened to mine, but I'm sure it'll stop after a while. I also read that the blade falls out of the saya relatively easily, which is, again, a valid concern. Thankfully, mine stays in the saya relatively well, though I'm not going to hold it upside-down or anything. There was also supposedly an issue with the cloth grip slipping around the handle, which thankfully isn't an issue mine has.

Then there was one review notifying that some of the blood flakes off when the blade is sharpened. I can't say this is a surprising development. It's paint. Seriously. It's going to come off if you sharpen the blade. The grip supposedly also has a tendency to splinter if used to cut things like full milk jugs, which, again, isn't surprising. It's a show piece as far as I can tell, not something to swing around and expect to cut everything to ribbons.

All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase. I couldn't care less that the blade wasn't sharpened before being shipped (which, for whatever reason, seems to be something people consider important enough to point out and consider a bad thing), and will most likely make other purchases from this website further down the line. I might buy this blade with the black saya just to have both versions of it.
