Great Gift Reviewed by David Reedy on Jul 09, 2015   4 out of 5

As a cane, it's quite nice. Good, solid feel to it with a secure rubber base. The skull top is resin and well made with some heft to it. The blade has a slight rattle inside the cane which is a dead giveaway. I fixed that problem with Gorilla Glue which expands upon curing. It would make a decent self defense item just as it is. The sword itself is cheap, thin and flimsy. It's shipped dull. The dual edges were sharpened easily enough to a razor's edge without loss of much width at all. Whether or not it will hold an edge is irrelevant as it is only meant to be used in an emergency. As a thrusting weapon, I'd be afraid of bending the blade. Again, the sword aspect is more novelty than anything and not meant to be practical. It's a fun show piece and will be quite effective as a defense weapon should a true need arise. I got this as a gift for a friend and the small amount of time I spent sharpening it made it a much better gift than had it been given dulled. He was thrilled by it! :)

The blade isn't sharp (no surprise there) but what do you expect for $19.99??? but other than that its cool for what I paid for. Its not for dueling or anything like that.

I bought this for my father since he likes skulls and swords. He likes it very much but there are some things you should know if you are looking for quality of the sword.

The sword is a short sword and completely dull. It cannot cut anything because the blade is like a hammer, no edge. It maybe like that so you can use it more often without it being a huge danger. It is also the same size as my leg so if you are taller than 6 you might have an issue with it. But other than that you will love this if you are looking for a cool looking cane.

As I expected.... Reviewed by David on Jan 26, 2014   4 out of 5

Sword was butter knife dull, no edge on it all, but the cane it self is very sturdy and looks great! very detailed and cool as h**l! The sword screws in and stays secure, how ever it does rattle when the can hits the ground while walking, but some minor modifications should fix it no problem, all in all I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice solid goth style cane.

I like the sword, but it doesn't have a edge on it at all...on either side! One side has a lot of gashes on it and can't be sharpened without losing half of the blade ,and the other is so dull that it would take forever to sharpen!

This is a fun walking stick, even without the sword. It's not much use as a self defense weapon, as it couldn't cut butter, and there's not enough metal to sharpen it enough to do so. But the novelty of it being there in a walking stick with a skull on it, is fun. The only problem is that it falls apart. Keep some super glue around for repairs.
