Product Description
The Special Forces Shovel is modeled after the original Soviet Spetsnaz shovel. The Spetsnaz were the Soviet army's most elite unit, renowned for their deadly efficiency. Trained to travel light, the Spetsnaz packed only the bare essentials. This included a unique shovel which had a broad flat blade and 3 sharp versatile edges. Cold Steel's shovel follows the Soviet design as faithfully as possible with, twice as thick as the original, steel and heat treatment. 19.68" overall

A great tool very strong but needs sharpening. if you want it for throwing or digging into a steep hill to make a seat for hunting its a perfect backpacking tool.
Good sturdy shovel. It handles like a battle ax. Wish it had a longer handle.
Although [like every True Swords product] it arrived fast and on time, the shovel had multiple scratches and dents on both sides of the blade as well as the handle, which may have been caused by shipping. It also arrived only somewhat sharp, which isn't a problem at all if you know how to sharpen any utility edge.Additionally, though I should have easily realized this when I saw the picture and when it was not at all mentioned in the description, it did not come with any kind of sheath. (Unless, of course, you count the bubble wrap from shipping.) (Which did absolutely nothing to protect it from scratches and dents, so...I guess not.)
