It's really nice & sharp, but...

I just got my second sword of the month from my monthly subscription. It fact, it was fast delivery! It's not even a month yet & yet, here it is! My first sword arrived last month July 14th. It was a Shinwa Royal Warrior Katana & it was a beauty! Very sharp & the sword was very very straight. I always look at the straightness of the sword. That's how I can tell it's built well. Unfortunately for the second sword, which is a Combat Commander Trench Saber? I can't say the same. The blade is sharp. The size of the saber is a little bit small. Compared to the Naval Commander's Saber for which I was accustomed to when I was in the USNavy. It's bigger & longer. I gave it 3 stars because the entire length of the sword is not straight at all. As i'm looking on the top of the pommel all the way to the top blade to tip? It's curved a little to the right. What bothers me is that it's a 1065 carbon steel! It should be straight. But then again, that's what you get for a $67.00 sword. I really don't know if it should be a battle-ready sword? I am not a sword expert but if you forge a 1065 carbon steel sword? It should be straight. Just saying.

Tiny, like a youth sword

Just received this "sword" from my sword of the month subscription. Not sure how they got the price point on this sword. It is tiny. Fits my 12 year-old son well. I can't get my fingers through the knuckle holes. It's about the same length as my replica of the 'sting' dagger from LOTR. I would never have bought this and am very disappointed that this came for the sword of the month.

Solid, Sharp, Small to Med Hand

I just received mine and was pleased with it's solid feel and sharp blade. I did note, as another review mentioned, that the finger holes in the Trench guard are not real large, but at 6' and 235 lbs. my hands are just small enough to be snug but not tight or uncomfortable. My only disappointment is, that I am Left Handed, so I will have to take the curved nylon Sheath to a Shoe Repair shop and have the belt loop cut off and resewn to the back side, so that I can wear it on my right hip for cross draw. Otherwise, for the price, an very nice short sword!

Father's Day present early!

Overall not a bad purchase, my right ring finger sometimes gets stuck in the handle but otherwise feels comfortable. No blade wobble and feels sturdy.

Nice blade, almost perfect especially for the money.

Anyone who's held a cheap knuckle duster knows it's not a particularly comfortable thing to do, so that part kinda comes with the territory. The balance is perfect, the handle fits my smallish hand rather well, and I love the blade profile. Tiny bit of blade rattle, but I don't think it's going to come apart or anything. All in all, nice, cheap, and sexy cx

Uncomfortable Handle

Just received this yesterday after it being on my want list for months. Order and delivery were great, the weight and balance of the blade seem perfect, but grok it if the trench knuckle guard finger openings aren’t made for a child with steel fingers. I’m not a huge man at 6’0” 230 lbs but I have to finangle my fingers into the guard, and then after a half dozen swings the metal spokes feel like they have smashed all finger flesh flat and are starting to dig into bone. I may take my Dremel tool and open up and smooth the finger holes and see if that helps. I sure as heck couldn’t wade into battle or even whack a few water jugs or melons without my hand saying ouch. Great blade otherwise, but a reasonably comfortable grip is pretty important. United Cutlery is better than this, I have a half dozen of their Combat Commander swords and they’re all quality blades
