This Musha Bushido Dark Ninja Katana is your chance to own a battle-ready, full-tang katana at the fraction of the cost of most hand-made katana. This all-black katana features a high-carbon steel blade that is razor sharp and full tang - attached to the hardwood handle with two bamboo pegs. The handle is wrapped in cotton cord in the traditional samurai wrapping pattern. Includes a hardwood blade scabbard for storing your new favorite sword.
I'm a huge fan of the 80's ninja movies and this sword is definitely worth every penny .I own 5 other katana's from 1060 to t10 clay tempered blades and I will say this one is well built and sturdy the only thing was the breathing tube that was supposed to be in the saya was missing ?? not a big deal but customer service should check these things b4 shipping and the Tsuba is not copper like advertised it's steel the blade is super sharp out of the box and for the price I paid $40 that included shipping very happy with this sword......
Even though to date there is no documented historical evidence in any museum or elsewhere supporting claims that the Ninja, a.k.a., Shinobi, ever used a sword with a straight blade and a square Tsuba, this sword is one of the most affordable, fully functional and accurate reproductions on the market that adheres to the public's uneducated perception of what a Ninja sword looks like. While the descriptions of the length of the Ninjato vary from some that are as short as a Wakizashi to those that were as long as a Katana, I chose one that was lengthy, similar to a Katana. This was strictly a personal choice. I also wanted one that was basic in design, not ornate or embellished in any way. This sword is as bare boned as they come without sacrificing its designed purpose as a weapon for cutting. Simplicity and effectiveness all played a role in my choice of choosing a Ninjato and since I never buy swords that aren't fully functional and I did intend on cutting with it, safety was a key factor, as well. I could have skimped out and bought a cheap stainless steel sword as an example for my collection, but anyone who knows anything about swords will agree that stainless steel swords are never meant to be swung and by no means ever safe to be used for cutting purposes. Another reason I wanted one was to compare its cutting and thrusting capabilities to that of the Samurai's Katana and Wakizashi design, which have been proven effective and evolved though hundreds of years of practicallity and aquiered knowledge. Upon first handling this sword out of the box, it was a little awkward, since I've had very little experience with a straight bladed sword. However, after familiarizing myself further with it and developing muscle memory from handling it, I found it to be quite comfortable. It cuts very smoothly with minimal movement to the target, which is ideal. As far as thrusting, it performs equally as well as a Katana since it has the same tip design (Kissaki). Overall, this Ninjato is a great sword for performing the demanding cutting techniques of Tameshigiri. Its fit and finish are impressive considering its minimal cost. The blade is very stiff, giving me the impression that it is thoroughly tempered, as advertized and I wouldn't hesitate to try it out on bamboo. The blade also tappers both in width and thickness from the Habaki to the Kissaki. Despite it having no Bo-hi, it's not as unbalanced as I originally thought it would be. The Ito is well wrapped and tight, as it should be. The Kashira, Fuchi, Menuki, both Seppa and Habaki appear to be made of the same cast metal material which I'm assuming is a zinc alloy. The Samegawa is jet black with a decent texture, but a bit softer than I've experienced before. The Saya came is nicely finished in glossy black and the Sageo came tightly tied in a common presentation knot, which I have untied for traditional use. I disassembled the entire sword before cutting with it, cleaned off a few burs from the Nakago, which to my surprise is 2/3's the length of the Nakago, making the sword truly "full tang". Stamped into one side of the Nakago is the word "SHINOBI" and the Musashi kanji engraved into the other side. I reamed out a few burs the Mekugi ana , replaced the Mekugi and all around fine tuned the entire piece. The Tsuka is consistant in shape, without any hourglass shape and arrived without any noticeable internal cracking. I also touched up the edge of the blade by stropping it on leather with a bit of Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish, since it came a bit duller than I could accept. As an aside, the Tsuba on mine is not blackened solid copper as it was advertised, it is steel, since it is magnetic and in my opinion, more ideal than copper. Also, the blade is not anodized as it was advertised, rather, it is blued similar to so many firearms. As an avid Tameshigiri practitioner, retired Martial Artist and Japanese sword connoisseur, it is very important to me to try my hand at a variety of Japanese sword types, regardless whether they are or are not historically accurate. The sword is now displayed on a vertical display stand. Lyle D. Yates-Master Instructor.
Very nice, when you get real ray skin , 1/4 inch 1045 carbon steel blued blade for 45 bucks, insane love it. I have spent 45 bucks back in the day,15 years ago and would get a thin 440stainless steel blade fake Ray skin fake leather wrap handle for 45 bucks still have the sword. No comparison. I HAVE 4 Musha swords, very happy with all of them.
This is a better sword than I expected it when I bought it. It does not come razor sharp, but it is a great sword to have.
Received this sword yesterday, and was blown away. I wasn't expecting this much quality for the price. It's a lil heavier than expected, not really that sharp, and the seppa(spacer) and habaki (blade collar) is loose, but if that's the only problem. I'll consider this a big win. Keep up the good work budk!
If you're looking for a straight blade for practice, this may be the best fifty bucks you can spend. I bought this because I wanted to try some iaido forms with a straight-bladed weapon. I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality and solidity. Holds up quite well in full-speed forms; no rattling or looseness. Noto with a straight blade is... different. Easier in some ways, more difficult in others. This sword has a good enough balance, however, that experienced practitioners will pick it up quickly without too long of an adjustment period -- and you don't have to mortgage the house to give it a try. I've no idea of the "cutting power" of the blade; I do not waste my time on such childish behavior.
As always, True Swords had my sword to me 2 full days earlier than the "package tracking" stated. I have already purchased this sword once before. I love it so much i wanted another one just like it. Great sword. Love it and its "twin". i was NOT disappointed!!! True Swords is awesome. i highly recommend this sword. will probably be adding a few more of these to my collection.
This was my first "normal" sword purchase. I also have Chinese hook swords, but those are so unconventional, they barely count. This sword is very nice, and the saya is equally well made. The tsuba is tight and solid, and the wrapping is uniform and snug. It's not razor sharp, but it did make some clean slices into some cardboard I had from another online purchase. I have to say, this sword is extremely heavy. I thought my hook swords were heavy and unbalanced, but this thing feels like a sharpened crowbar. Seriously, I'm afraid to swing it forcefully b/c I may injure myself joints or pull a muscle, and I'm not a little guy. It may be that swords are generally this weighty, and being my first real one, I just need to get used to it. No matter, it will look good on my weapons wall, which is where it was always intended to go anyways.
Got this sword just today and i was so excited to take it out of the box the wrap is nice and tight the tsuba is nice and heavy duty and the blade is super nice
I recently purchased this sword and I must say its a nice sword. The blade is beautiful and well made. Definitely one to buy
Just got this sword , and it is SWEET , i am super happy about it. definitely the best sword for what it costs.
After first seeing this sword and it's low price, I shrugged it off as a cheap piece and not worth my money. But after more research, I decided it was too good to pass up. It comes through on the description, though nothing to write home about. A great starter sword with a good amount modabilty. Definitely one to consider then next time you have some pocket change.
I own this sword, and while it is well built, sharp, and beautiful, it is not a "true" ninja sword. There has never been a historical discovery of a straight-bladed "ninja" sword. The design (the straight blade, the square tsuba) is an invention of the 80's ninja movie craze. Stephen K. Hayes also helped associate this sword design with ninjas. Historically, ninjas preferred anonymity, and wielding a sword that immediately screamed "NINJA!" would have been detrimental to being stealthy and invisible. Be that as it may, it is a solid design, well built, good steel, sharp blade, and attention to detail. A lot of the abilities attributed to ninjas are mythic and not based in reality, but for what it is, this is still a very good, well built, solid sword. I especially appreciate Japanese-inspired swords that don't have a fuller (blood groove), which are incredibly hard to find.
This is the first katana I've ever purchased. While my knowledge of blades is growing, my funds are limited, and this seemed like a good deal. I believe it was. The construction seems solid. I've had it for a couple months now, and for the minor abuse I've put it through, I've had no issues. The blade came decently sharp out of the box, but I like my blades to have an edge that can split frog hair, so some brief moments with a whetstone later I got it how I like it. I'm happy with my purchase. Definitely not a close quarters weapon, but in a nice, wide open space, this can be formidable.
This is my first of many future purchases from true swords. It is just remarkable. Read the description and you will be hooked. Order the sword and satisfaction is guaranteed.
What can I say? I got what I wanted and asked for.

A black blade, Both straight and sharp. It's beautiful and very well made. And for $60? I can't complain about anything. Mostly because there's nothing to complain about.

If you love swords, specially ninja swords, this is by far one heck of a good buy.
This is the first sword I've ever gotten/held. Its a bit heavier than i thought it would be, has a very snug fit with the sheath, has a very silent swing and a thick blade. This sword would be very hard to break unless you're out there hitting trees or something (not sure why you want to). Only prob i had with it was that it wasn't that sharp out of the box. It did cut threw the box it came in fairly easily, but barely sliced threw a sheet of paper. But i easily sharpened it and now it cuts threw paper, cardboard, and bottles like butter. Ive yet to try it on anything else but I'm sure it could handle almost anything you throw at it.
This is the ideal battle sword. Not for siege nor confined spaces seeing as how is quite long. Although if shadow techniques are applied space will not make a difference. Its sharp as the devils tongue and sturdy as an oak tree. note this is not a toy this blade seeks blood. True ninja sword indeed.
Wanted a ninja blade, saw this with a scabbard, had to get it.

This is thing is big, or more, the same size as a normal katana just straight. Simply a beautiful blade. And the price is well worth it.
Just received this sword in the mail and let me say, it is fantastic. For this price it is perfect for any collector or swordsman!
Super fast shipping!
Blade is sharp as can be, no kidding. Nice heft to the sword, and no issues with sliding out of the sheath. Fantastic sword for the price! Nice shiny black color. The breathing tube is a nice touch as well! Some color/texture imperfections upon close inspection.
Still, this is a bargain at 59.99!
I am not an easy person to make happy. I ordered two of these instruments and less than seventy-two hours later they were in my hands. They are durable, comfortable and beautiful. TRUESWORDS has earned themselves yet another loyal, lifetime customer.
Wonderful sword to have. Love the color and its handling is among the best along with the weight. It's a very silent sword and very sharp. If your wonder what the stick that comes out the bottom for like I did. The sheath doubles as a snorkel which if your a ninja or assassin you'll need for under water movement. Excellent sword great for any collection.
awesome sword. delivery was fast as lightning. got it today and i love it. been cutting some light stuff and it slices through stuff like a hot knife through butter. love it. love the weight of the sword. feels awesome in your hand.
I am completly blown away with this sword! I received it today and it was razor sharp out of the box! I highly recommend this product for any collector.
Just received this today and I'm more than pleased with the quality of this sword. This is the first sword I've ever purchased and I'm glad that the the description was spot on... If you're hesitant about this particular sword, don't be. It's definitely worth it! I will definitely be making more purchases from True Swords!
Finally received my order, and I was a little hesitant in believing all that I read about these swords. My past experience with these items were iffy if at all certain. Besides just one other quality katana that I have bought a while back these that I received from True Swords are the ones I have been hoping for. I would be lying if I did not admit to being pleasantly surprised that everything I read about these swords came out true. Reviews, now are the way I now have started to get my info to evaluate and determine if I will be buying or passing up this product. Reading the reviews before seeing the price at True Swords sometimes would throw me off because I thought for sure they were out of my financial reach, but I was wrong, and glad of it. I will now start my collection with confidence that I will be buying quality swords at a great price
BEAUTIFUL SWORD. Just got serious about collecting swords and this was the perfect sword to start with. It feels solid and well built. WELL WORTH the $59.99. I have paid 2x as much for swords not even a 10th of this quality. Ordered it on Sunday (standary shipping) and got it Tuesday. Super Fast, TRUE SWORDS !
I actually got this sword four years ago. As such, I can give a fairly good perspective on the life-span of this blade (or at least, better than most reviews which are written soon after purchase). It was my first real non-replica sword.

This sword arrived in near perfect condition. The blade was sharp with no scratches or nicks, the handle was sturdy and tightly wrapped, and the tsuba was firmly well secured. The saya had no scratches and was a beautiful solid black, and had a snug grip on the sheathed blade.

To keep a four-year-long story short, it is still in almost the exact same condition. I have only cut a few objects with it, and generally haven't done much else with it than display it, and pull it in and out of the sheath many many times (either for just swinging around or showing off). The blade is still sharp and black as ever, and shows no signs of rust after only being oiled once a couple years ago; it has been in both very dry and somewhat moist environments (a swamp-cooled home in the summer and monsoon season gets fairly moist). The handle has shown no signs of unwrapping after being handled quite a bit. The saya still holds its nice grip on the blade when sheathed, and has proven fairly resistant to the light smacks it has (rarely) received (from the corners of walls or doors and the like).

As far as I can tell, this sword will remain in great condition for many years to come. It made me a firm believer in the quality of Musashi Swords from day one. I hope nothing has changed about this sword since back when I got it, because it has been everything a sword enthusiast could want from it. One thing to note, though: the description used to read that the blade was made from 440 stainless steel, whereas now it just says "carbon steel". It should be nothing to worry about, as 440 stainless is still a kind of carbon steel, so it might just be a different way to say the same thing. When I got it, this sword did cost $74.99; but if you know TrueSwords, you know they've got the best prices, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lowered the price because that's just what they do, because they're awesome like that.

In any case, I fully recommend this sword in every way possible. I give it 10 stars out of 5.
This was the second sword i got, but the first battle ready sword. The shipping came on time, the blade was well packaged, the sword was awesome!! I love how its completely black!! It's very durable, and not bent at all. Came with lots of oil, but i'm not worried about that cause it was needed anyways. Overall, i love the craftsmenship of it. Beautifully done!!
1 word AWESOME wow true swords you have done it again thanks. A new treasure in my collection, though a little heavy, and the snorkel is worthless I love it. Nicely wrapped handle, super sharp blade superb for the price. Hell its a steal, don't pass this one up.
One word: awesome. This thing rocks! Came really sharp with a fair amount of oil on it, which disappeared after a few draws. Came real sharp. Cut through the box like it was nothing. Definitely worth it, and awesome buy for only 60 bucks plus shipping. Will definitely buy from Trueswords again!
One thing that surprised me about this product was it's weight. The lack of a blood groove is akin to putting a silencer on a gun, but makes the blade heavier than a normal katana. But this is a minor flaw, if you can even call it a flaw. I actually like the added weight, which is great for training purposes and plus I wouldn't hesitate to bang swords with anyone with this baby, unlike a regular katana that would dull after a few strokes (I am extremely protective when it comes to my katanas, as anyone should be).

Considering this is my first ninja (straight-blade) sword, I am very happy with my purchase. If you would prefer a light, fast sword, I wouldn't recommend this, but I feel like the added weight/power and stealth of each stroke is ideal for fighting in a dark room, which is why this would be my weapon of choice if someone breaks into my house. Plus it's just a well-made blade for being so cheap, everything is put together extremely tight and sturdy. Personally, I give it a 5/5.
Awesome Sword, well worth the money. It's unique, it's sharp and I'm happy to add it to my collection
ok this sword is possibly the best quality you can get for your money. the first thing i would do when i order this sword is get some tameshigiri with it because the first thing you are going to want to do is slice something in half (its just natural instinct) man+sharp sword=everything in half, or little pieces.
i love the blade it comes razor sharp like it says, but it has some dings in it and the saya is not very good it scracthes the blade every time i take it out, over all it was a good buy although i could have done better but im happy with it. :)
At first the sheath was too tight and took a lot to open but after a little filing of the sheath its perfect. I love this sword!
What more do you want, it is sharp, black, and it comes with a straw! The sword looks beautiful, handles well.
I absolutely love this sword! I just got it and it arrived very quickly. It's sharp, well oiled and the sword fits tightly in the scabbard. A great buy!
Great buy for the money. Fast delivery. Product arrived as descriped. Cant wait for some fool to break into my house so I can try the cutting edge :)

I feel safer already.
I Just Got may Sword its supper nice and tight. Feels good in your hands...A must buy just as nice as my bros Paul Chen Sword..The sword is also recommended on Swords buyers guide i love it ..Fast delivery.. thanks True Sword
This was my first blade from True Swords and all i can say is OH MY GOD, this is perfect but the paint on the tasuba wears away wen you draw it and the scabbard is as loose as Vinnie C.'s mom.but overall the blade itself is very beautiful..
honestly i was surprized when i recieved it it is a beautiful sword...i tried it out and was impressed i cut down a 7 foot tall shrub/weed like butter i recomend this sword but the sheath had minor imperfections but a good buy good investment after a while the paint thins on the copper bearings but i didnt feel that effected the functionability.
This is potentially the greatest deal I've ever seen on the Internet. This sword is fantastic- good steel quality, a nice edge, all-around marvelous construction. And it's about a third of the price swords of this quality go for. If you're in the market for a sword, I wholeheartedly recommend this one.
Overall the sword is good and sharp, the other reviews are not that accurate.

Pros:
Good Balance
Sharp(slices through bottles fairly easily)
Full Tang
Sturdy

Cons:
Paint on blade comes of fairly easily
Blade does not sit in saya(sheath) tightly
Breathing tube is rather pointless if you have larger lungs. im a body builder so it does nothing for me.

Basically this sword is able to cut if you have decent form and not swinging it like a baseball bat.
also shipping was really fast. arrived in 3 days.
Great sword! Overall no complaints, the sword itself is a tad blade heavy but it can easily be compensated for, the metal seems a tad on the soft side but this blade can easily take a beating. Very solid construction, blade sharpness (atleast my blade) didnt need sharpening, came razor sharp. Another Excellent Trueswords buy! Thanks guys!
a very nice sword for its price... the steel is a little soft and blade is not perfectly blanced. but aside from that its a grand piece. very well crafted and a very lagit feel. totally worth its weight in gold
Simply put, Perfection.

Came sharp, and i mean sharp. First day I got it I cut through a 3/4 inch dowel wrapped in a soaked rice mat. which most swords cant even get through.
Great buy
Great for a gift
recommend it to any one.
A Beautiful sword. Shipping was right on time, and fast. There were 0 flaws in the sword. I was very pleased and 100% satisfied. The sword itself was a lot better than expected. Thank You!!
A very good deal at the price, and excellent customer care.

I did not expect much from this sword because if the very low price, but it is a steal at the price to say the least. I might dare say that there is no better sword for the money.

A very fine cutter, against which no water filled jug is safe while this sword is in my hand.

Was originally shipped with a slightly defective scabbard, but was quickly replaced with a perfect unit by Trueswords immediately upon notifying them.

Thank you Trueswords. I will always look to you first for all of my future sword stuff.
I was so excited to have my first ninja sword. This sword is awesome. My sword came in perfect, with no defects. This is the ultimate traditional stealth sword, as well as strong and an excellent price for its value. Musashi makes really good quality swords, though the sheath feels it's made of a cheap material, but maybe it's just my opinion since I'm new to sword buying. What's important is the actual sword is high quality.

I tried ordering this same sword from a different site, and it took 2 months before I just gave up and canceled my order since they were pulling my chain saying it was stuck in customs and gave lousy service.

But then I discovered True Swords, and got my order within 2 days! So if you're doing research on where to purchase a sword online, go with True Swords. Awesome prices, quick shipping, and excellent service. You won't be disappointed.
I saw this sword several years ago at a showing in New Mexico, it was amazingly sturdy and razor sharp. I was extremely happy when I found it on True Swords. I immediatley ordered it and recieved it a week later. Unfortunately my scabbard had a large crack in it next to the mouth. I emailed True Swords about this damage and they resolved the problem immediately. I have never been as satisfied with an online store's customer service as I am with True Swords! The sword itself is 100% quality built, it is rigid, sturdy, and extremely sharp. There is no sway whatsoever in the blade and the grip is built to obtain maximum friction. I would recommend this item to someone looking for a show pice or for someone who just wants a sword to go hacking around in the woods with. This sword is the best I have seen so far! 10 Stars!
excilent blade probelm in the lacker finish one the sheeth is chiped and the black i paint on the hand guard wore off in no time
I'll be real with you. This sword is by far the best sword i've ever purchased for its price. I don't feel cheated in anyway in fact i feel like I should of paid more for it. i WANT to pay more for it. it's in a beautiful condition especially the blade, well oiled and sharp. the sword all in all is balanced and perfect. Honestly the picture gives you an idea but once you open it [like i just did] you'll fall 100% in love without any doubts. Thanks TrueSwords.
This is an excellent sword. When I pulled it out of the box, i was impressed to find everything was in flawless condition. The blade was well oiled and not a scratch on it. Again, the Musashi stamping was missing from the Habaki which was disappointing. The blade was sharpened but not razor sharp. It feels slightly heavy but very well constructed. Nothing wiggles or moves at all. The Habaki and tsuba are high quality. It is a solid blade, and the all black look is very unique and super stealthy. It came with a cool little wooden snorkel hidden in the bottom of the saya, which was a cool surprise!!! Great sword for the money - especially if you are looking for something simple, deadly and that doesn't reflect light. I don't want to recommend this sword so that my collection stays more rare - but other than that I would (and did) buy it!!
This sword is amazingly sharp!!! It stands out because it is strait and has a black blade. I love this sword. My only problems with this sword are that the hand guard shakes a little, and that the sword does not easily go into the sheath but all in all this sword is amazing!!!
WONDERFUL weapon. I'm a first time sword buyer, and I think this was an excellent choice. I could tell from the first time I picked it up how durable it is. After swinging it as hard as I could, nothing budged. An initial test with my finger made me think it wasn't particularly sharp, but it made short work of my backyard shrubbery and dinner beef. If I should ever need it for its technical purpose ... which I doubt ... I know it'll do the job. Great aesthetics too, if you like things simple and utilitarian. The guard was pretty scratched up and the sheath has a lot of dust I'll have to work out, but those are the least of my concerns. If you're looking for a soundly built and conservatively styled sword, I strongly recommend this one.
I've always wanted to add a ninja sword to my collection and I made the right decision with this one. Nice and sharp and looks awesome on display.
One of my favorite swords at the moment in my collection. The black blade looks very nice and the sword is solid. It's a nice sword for any collector, and it's also good for practical use.
Absolutely wonderful sword. I was skeptical at first about buying one online, but my fears disappeared when this came in the mail. Very sharp (cuts through 2 tatami mats with ease) and considering its katana length the weight is just about right. Excellent job true swords I will definitely buy from here again.
This Sword is sweet. Black carbon and when you look down the blade in the light, there is a dark red tint where it was tempered. The scabbard was slightly scratched. Great for the money !!!!
just got this sword today! its awsome the blade is sharp and thick, the wooden scabard is gloss black very nice although the sword is heavy but sturdy.us ninja could easily defeat are enemies! There is no name on blade musashi and the snorkle is not useable wow! this sword is just sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Just got it today and I'm in love! It's really hard to draw though. I dunno, maybe I'm doing something wrong. No other complaints though.
Wow, holy amazing! I was a little skeptic about buying a sword online, but I'm truely impressed. The sword is very well made, sturdy, and ballz freakin awesome! I will definitely be buying another from this site very soon. Oh but the blade collar doesn't have the musashi logo just to let you know.
i just this sword in the mail today, and all i have to say is wow! this sword is the sturdiest sword for only $60. if you ever wanted to find a sword with a lot of beauty this is the one! the only problem with my sword is that the tsuba was scratched and showing the copper a little bit but i can deal with that
this sword is very exceptional for the price. very well balanced an well made. This sword is a good on weather you are an avid collector or just starting this sword is well worth the price
this thing is shweet. at first, i had trouble getting the blade in and out of the sheath. but that may not be the case with ur purchases. i did cut my finger using this, bled pretty bad too. fun tho. the case sounds alittle weak. just be careful with this piece and u should be safe with a damn fine sword.
WOW! I have bought alot of swords and blades in my years of collecting, but....this is one that has surpassed most everything else in my collection -- even the one and only sword in my collection that has drawn my blood, which I hold nearly "sacred" in my arsenal. This sword is much weightier than any other Ninja Sword in my collection as well, and from what I can tell just straight out of its box opened only moments ago...well, this is one heck of a blade! You guys have outdone yourselves with this. There is no movement to the blade; no wobble -- its very sturdy and would *REALLY* pack a punch in a true battle. Can't wait to get a chance to put it through its paces in a few tests of my own! Thanks, True Swords, for bringing this awesome addition to my collection! Well Done!
amazing....very sharp and very sturdy. extremely pleased with it. some people were complaining about weight, but for its size it weighs fine. ninja swords usually were slightly smaller than the traditional katana, but this is as long as a katana so it is expected to weigh as much. the only thing i find funny is the "snorkel scabard", which does not actually work, sorry for those of you looking for that particular option. everything else is perfect.
I'm going into convulsions waiting for this thing! But I already know that it's an awesome sword and I'm glad I bought it when I did. True Swords truly is the best. (I love this site)
It was due to come in on the 24th, but it came in two days early, which was sweet. The blade wasn't exactly straight, but it was pretty sharp, and the weight felt pretty nice too. There was also lots of tiny bits of residue from various things, I've started getting it off, as there isn't very much. Overall it was definitely worth the purchase.
I bought this sword right after my beautiful girl bought me the ten ryu sword and it was much cheaper but way better. I of course took it apart and found unlike the ten ryu which had nothing on the tang, had shinobi but no musashi or musha. I figured it was better than nothing lol. Other than that it has out done the ten ryu by far. And for the price it is definitely exceptional. Thanks for the good deal true swords.
got my sword a few minutes ago. so this review will be short. first thing is the box, the box it comes in is nice. not to fancy but it'll do for the price. the blade itself weights just about right but upon trying to pull the blade out of the sheathe the blade wouldnt come out so i had to force it out. i dont like the idea of pulling it out with force since i fear i might cut myself but in the end its not a big problem. that aside the blade comes nicely sharp....I cut the box it came in half hahahaha. overall the blade is wonderful and nicely built. its my first of many i'll be buying here so i look forward to grow my "new" collection and for anyone looking into buying it, go for it. 4/5
Just got the sword today despite placing an advanced order but after looking it over, the sheathe itself has a couple of scratches and dents but the blade itself feels well made and appears very clean. Haven't had a chance to test its cutting ability but overall, its pretty nice and feels pretty durable. You can feel the weight and tang too which makes me pretty happy
haven't got a change to cut with it but the look of this bad boy in person makes me speechless i can't wait to get to know the sword
This sword is well-made as far as I can tell. It is very quiet when practicing cutting resulting from the lack of a blood groove. I don't know how long blood grooves have been created within Japanese blades; I have always thought about it as European in origin. At any rate, the smooth construction of the blade is more aerodynamically efficient (i.e. no drag resulting from the groove).
ordered for a friend - fast delivery and nice looking sword, but upon closer inspection, the paint on the habaki is not finished and it has the word shinobi on one side. also, china is printed near the bottom of the blade. these are minor annoyances, but something to look out for. gripes aside, the sword is more durable than i expected - it's heavy and the blade is sharp
Well it came pretty fast. It's really nice except mine wasnt very sharp, I rubbed my finger across the blade and didnt even get a paper cut from it. The guard is a bit crooked but it's not very noticable.
I placed my order (several items) on Sunday and I received this Koga Sword (along with all items) on Wednesday.

It came nicely packed, plenty of thick oil on it and was "Acceptable" condition. Although it appears solidly constructed there was a slight blemish on the Saya where the lacquer was chipped and exposed the wood.

(Hence the 4/5 stars not a full 5/5)

Initially I thought it will be a showpiece, but it appears to be battle ready. Not sure how I will use it, but I am anxious to continue to work on my technique and cut a few melons.

Over the next few days, I will thoroughly clean it and proudly display it in my home office (hiding the Saya damage hopefully with a black sharpie).
Great sword for the money. Sharp blade, nice fit into the saya. Feels a lil but heavier then I thought it would but that's ok.
I received the sword fast as always. First off, I've always bought katanas, but this sword made me fall in love ninjatos! Traditional shorter blade than the scabbard so very quick on the draw, the handle is nice and tight and the sword has a very nice weight! The blade is about as sharpe as a regular knife, but it should sharpen up in no time.

My only complaint is that the blade doesn't fit that snug in the scabbard, so don't turn the the sword handle down...our it WILL fall out and have a nasty cut our bruise.
I've wanted this sword for a while but only just now bought it as my third functional sword.

Because it doesn't have the blood groove it's a little heavier than the average katana, which can be good and bad. Fits in the saya nicely but it's not a completely snug fit. No sound from any of the fittings and the blade is nicely shaped.

I was surprised when I found the pull out for the breathing hole, guess I looked over that bit in the description. The bamboo plug sits snugly in its place and doesn't come out at all. Though personally I wouldn't use a saya like that; that's what a blow gun is for.

I'd prefer real ray skin, but the false skin isn't too bad. The saya doesn't seem to be entirely wood either. Looks like wood encased in a hard black material similar to plastic. But I could be wrong. Can't really tell if the menuki are cast metal or plastic though.

Mine came with some chipped paint on the end of the saya. Not a big deal. Just looks like someone returned it after not taking care of it. Some of the fittings were also a little scratched, but again not a big deal.

It's a little long to be worn on the back in true shinobi fashion. And it being straight only adds more complication to that. (I'm 6'3" with proportionate arms and I struggle to unsheathe it at times. A little practice is all that's needed though)
Very good sword, Comes Battle ready and sharp, Its very sturdy and full tang. Its made very well aswell... Downside is that it doesn't come with a cotton back for storage. The bag it does come in is plastic.
Cool sword..... the only thing bad is the saya (sheath) is very loose. The sword easily comes out, which is very annoying, but as for the blade itself its a great buy! Black blade is very cool, its sharp, and durable.
I just got this today and all in all its a pretty cool sword. The blade and scabbard have great color. Overall it has great looks but when you really look close there are a lot of imperfections. There are a multitude of dings and scratches on the blade and scabbard. Also, its about as sharp as a butter knife. When I order a sword I never expect perfection so I'm happy enough with the buy.
this is one of the sharpest swords i have very very sharp the grip is comfy the square guard is nice, the tang gets thin at the point, i was expecting a tanto point its more like a katana, overall i highly reccommend this sword it comes with a hidden surprise love it
very nice sword. mine came balanced nicely and the under-water piece works AWESOME!!!!!!!!. THE ONLY THING BAD WAS MINE DIDN'T COME WITH THE SEAL IN THE BLADE NEAR THE HILT. other than that very good buy.
A very nice blade, it is basically what I expected. Mine is almost perfectly balanced and has a decent sharpness to it. The sheath at first was very hard to get loose from the sword, after I broke it in though it started coming out perfectly while still being very secure. The pure black blade is a very nice touch. At the bottom of the sheath there is a cool little wooden tube for a snorkel or blow gun. It's a neat little additional feature. For $60.00 it's a great deal. I think most people would consider it perfectly balanced but I'm a perfectionist on this kinda stuff. The sword has a couple little scuffs and scratches but very minor. This is my first purchase from True Swords. I will definitely buy from them again.
I received this sword with in two days of my order, because true swords is awesome. The sword itself is a pretty sword, has a unique ninja feel to it, I would definitely reccomend buying it, and buying it from true swords if you want it quickly. The only thing that disappointed me was there isn't a "Musashi" engraving above the tsuba like in the picture. The sword is full tang, but the blades I own from the Amakuni Tachi series, the "Dark Orient" and "Sea Dragon" blades feel more stable.
This sword is strong, sturdy, and looks great. It could be sharper, and it's a little hard to get back in, but all around it is a good sword.
Very nice sword. Good Ninja design, great blade the weight is fine for its size. The blade felt a little wobbaly though. Other than that, it is a gret sword.
it's a good sword. the color of the blade is great. although it's heavier than i thought. shouldn't ninja swords be really light?
Seems pretty solid. wasn't really sharp, and the scabbard had a few nicks in the paint. The blade is pretty top-heavy as well. But hey, it was 50$
at first I was pretty impressed with this sword out of the box, but after a few cutting tests, the steel isn't that strong. It will cut water bottles with ease after a little sharping. But when it came to cutting mats the blade started to bend after the third strike. All in all this sword LOOKS awesome, but that as far as it goes. Not really battle ready, but hey what do you expect for $45?
All in all It was Alright. This was my first sword. I have had cutting experience before. This Ninjato looks and feels great, just a bit heavy on the blade. The Blade itself was thin on the cutting edge and did not come sharp at all. On the cutting side of the blade only half was sharpend so in whole it couldnt cut anything. the sword holder/sheath was too loose the sword wiggles a little. Although it dosnt cut well, For 60.00 $ it was a good buy. This sword for me is more for display just because it wasnt sharp. I reccomend this sword only if you need a cool looking ninjato sword to add to your collection.
This sword looks great & it came the same day i decided to wear all black cloths. Only down side is its not sharp I tested this by getting printer paper & tried to see if it would slice through & not just tear. It failed the test but its still a good sword
