Great for what you pay for.

I got this sword for sword drawing techniques, and for a lil over 50$ its surprisingly good, the handle is better made than i thought it would be, and my only real complaint is the sheath was really really tight at first and now its simply loose and wont stay in. Other than that and some confusion witht he shipping this isnt that bad of a product, just dont suspect the best sword ever.

I love it!!

I got this sword to use for taekwondo competition. No one believed that it's not a sharpened swords because of the beautiful blade. I absolutely love it! I'm 6'1" and many other swords look small in comparison to be but this one is perfect! Thank you!!

I got this as a gift a little over a year ago for my birthday. I have been using it during training and just recently used it during competition. I LOVE this sword. I've taken it apart for cleaning multiple times and it's still a solid piece. As I am a smaller lady, the weight can be a bit much after a couple hours of training, but it's helping me build strong arms :) I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone seeking a solid practice sword!

Just What I Wanted

Handle - 10.75", Blade - 28", Balance point about 6" in front of the handle, Weight - 2lbs 2oz. This is perfect for me to practice Iaido without having to carry my thumb in a jar and have the emergency room sew it back on. The only difference I see is that I don't have the Japanese writing on my blade. But, since I didn't buy the sword for display then that isn't a very important factor for me. Otherwise, it seems heavy and sturdy. I would imagine that it will stand up to real usage if you wanted to draw and hit something for a more realistic scenario.
Response: Thank you for pointing that out, we have taken a look at our inventory and see that the manufacture has changed the item. We have updated our images to reflect the change.

Just got this sword and overall I am pleased with the sword. to me personally it is a very light sword, but feels good. Only problem i have is that the saya is cracked near the end, but over all i am happy.

This sword is exactly what it claims to be. It is a budget practice sword that is very traditional and reasonably high quality. Be very clear that this sword is HEAVY. It you want to practice fast swings with lots of "swoosh", then you may want the lighter aluminum iaito swords. This sword is great if you want to build strength and get used to the feel of a full katana without bo hi. The parts, fit, and finish of this sword are all just as stated and make it at the very budget low price range of what I would call a real sword. Yes, this sword could be sharpened and it is worth noting that the edge is "square" on this and not intentionally rounded off. It could still do damage in a strike as others said, but would not draw blood in a light touch to the edge like a fully sharpened katana can do. This is a perfect first sword to own, or a great "beater" sword for practice. I would suspect that anything less expensive is pretty much junk. Five stars as a budget un-sharpened full-weight practice sword.

I don't own this sword yet but I have to mention that I have noticed that this katana is basically an unsharpened non-sharpened version of the last samurai katana that this website sells, which there's nothing wrong with this possible fact. it's just it would be cooler if this practice katana would be of it's own design and not a copy of a katana that this website already sells. which I have to mention that the last samurai katana is a very beautiful blade.

What a fantastic training tool. Just came in and feels so solid and sturdy. The bo-hi makes a great tachi when swung with correct alignment. Though it is safely dulled to a smooth rounded edge the metal is quality and the fittings are tight. Even dull, in the hands of a practitioner you could do lethal damage if needed for defense. Saya is kinda special as well, it is not the shiny laquer like most black sayas, its more of a dull matte finish and i like the texture very much. it gives a good grip and differentiates from my live blade swords.

Want to start training with a katana to practice kata and start getting comfortable with a sword, stop reading and order this you will not be let down. The price is amazing as well.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 12 year-old son. I was extremely happy to discover that True Swords carried unsharpened blades, as I didn't want my son to have anything sharp whatsoever. He will use it as a trainer and when it's not in use mount it in his room as a display piece.

When I placed the order online I made a special request for shipping to remove all identifying marks from the packaging because I didn't want any clues as to what the box contained. That would spoil my son's Christmas! To my surprise I received an email response within a day or so acknowledging my request and that all identifying marks would be removed from the packaging.

When the package arrived True Swords lived up to their promise. The box arrived in great condition and their name was even surgically cut out from the shipping label. You couldn't tell where the box came from or what was inside it - perfect for hiding the truth from my curious son.

When my boy opened the box he was extremely happy, and so was I. The sword and all components are well-built and sturdy. The blade looks like a real blade, but upon closer inspection you could see it has a dulled (unsharpened) edge. Essentially it looked just like it does in the photos online, which is something not all businesses do online. We are very happy with the purchase and would recommend True Swords to our friends!
