This 40" daito is an ideal practice sword to safely practice your sword skills while protecting your self and partners. Constructed from hardwood and includes two piece handguard. Great for training!

Bokken is a training sword, used as a relatively safe and inexpensive substitute for a real blade in several martial arts. They are used in the early stages of iaido when a practitioner has not yet reached the level where use of a iaito would be safe. The exception would be when a certain kata involving two people is performed. Then the veteran iaidoka will use a bokken for safety reasons.

Nice bokken. Got it while on sale, which was $6.99. I've always wanted one of this since I was a kid but I didn't have the opportunity to own one. Anyway the review:

Pros: It's quite the sturdy bokken -- great for practice. It seems balanced to me.

Cons: The tsuba (guard) is loose; however this can be fixed by taping the habaki (blade collar).

Conclusion: I don't know a lot about bokkens but this one seems okay.

Ok this Bokken practice Katana is just alright_I dont have alot good to say about this one because i bought it and received it on dec 30th and played with it hit my cold steel practice Katana against it and some wood poles around my house and found it to already be cracking on the handle:( though thank God this wasnt my only katana I also bought along with this one a black Daito Bokken and a cold steel practice Bokken Katana and out of the 3 this one was the one I wish i Wouldnt of ordered but hey who knew? I wraped it with athletic tape and bandaged it up hee hee! I gave it to my 7 year old and hopefully it will last a couple of months. My honest opinion is stay away from this one if u got the money get u a cold steel and check out my reveiw for that sword as well u wont be sorry. In the end for 5 dollars it wasnt a bad purchase just bummed out it already cracked.

I got this for my friend to use instead of his real ones for practicing (also so his mom wouldn't go crazy) an it served it's purpose well. He didn't like the guard b/c it didn't flow with his style but no biggy. It lasted him a while till he thought it was strong enough to handle a 20 yr old tree at full force. So as long as you avoid trees and the like this should last a while.

Great bokken. It's a little lighter than the picture suggests, more of a yellow color wood than the picture but still all around a great tool. Goes together very easily & withstands impact from other wooden weapons very well. This thing will only break if you are specifically *trying* to break it. The price couldn't get any better, my hat is off to you trueswords for providing a cheap but very sturdy training tool, just like it should be. Well done, keep it up.

Well, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but my father is quite experienced with the Bokken, and he was thrilled about this one. He has one himself, which cost more and is of a lower quality, he said. The weight is good, the wood is solid, and now me and my dad can reconnect... so this is a definite winner.

Very durable, me and my sister have been practicing with these and they don't even have a slightest scratch on the blade. I don't think you could accidentally break these, unless you are swinging it entirely too hard, against something like bricks or a solid tree. You don't have to worry about durability unless you are TRYING to break it. :) Great sword for practice use.

Great wooden sword! having lived in Florida all my life I've never really known any trees with hard durable wood. this however has exceeded my expectations and all my week wooded trees have fallen under its blunt, wooden blade

My Bokken just came today!!! I am stoked about this thing!! It is slightly different from the picture though, it is a much darker brown wood, but beautiful non the less. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and look forward to my future purchases with trueswords. Thank you trueswords
