Oda Nobunaga Red Katana Sword

Great. Awesome. Cool. This is a nice sword and made well for the price. Oda Nobunaga was called the Demon King. The first to try to unify Japan.

Even though this sword is low price it has all the quality of a much more expensive sword ??? , the fact that is a full tang means that the metal goes all the way to the end. There are to many of these more expensive swords that are not full tang that look real pretty but from the hilt to the end is a piece of all thread welded on that's about 3/8 of inch or smaller and will break if you ever try to use it for anything. In this day and age when there's so much crazy crap happening you want something that will work as a last resort. If you don't have a gun, then a good blade is useful as a back up, as far as the edge is concerned a little time with a good stone and gets it sharp as most people can handle. In regards to the carbon steel blade it's easier to sharpen than stainless steel especially if you get a nick in the edge (sometimes it happens) and stainless steel can be a lot of work. I live in Az and during the summer I use a swamp cooler to help keep the house cool, now with out prep this can be very bad on steel items so I just plan in advance and there's a lot of products out there to protect your steel products from rust. Over all this is a great blade and a great deal.

Defintely hands down this sword is worth it, the pictures do not do it justice. it's a little heavy, i'm not quite sure about battle ready however definetly an awesome sword to add to my collection.

I just got this beautiful katana today and I absolutely love it. It is so very beautiful and what makes it even better is that its razor sharp. I'm bigger into sharp weapons instead of displays. I highly recommend this katana.

This was my first purchase on BudK, and for the price i was pleasantly surprised. Cons: Blade is not sharp (I don't really care but it might matter to you), some of the blue/turquoise paint is kind of sloppy but you don't notice unless you look very close, hand guard can grind on your knuckles if you hold it improperly, the throwing knife and spike look cool but fell out when i opened the package and when I put them back in the sheath, then the sheath doesn't go over the blade nicely (I decided to just leave the knife and spike out). Pros: Nothing rattles or moves when i shake it, the tip is sharp (I accidentally cut my pant leg), the design looks fairly authentic and is very cool, all the sheath wrappings are tight and look good, feels nice in your hand, not too heavy, beautiful color and style. All in all, this is a great piece for display or for just messing around. It's really cool, and very sleek. I bought it because I'm an impulsive 17-year-old, and it suits my purposes nicely.

I brought this piece for display purposes only, and could not be more happy. At the cost for which I paid for this sword I did not expect to actually use it to cut anything even though it is sharp. If you like this piece to look at and enjoy its design I highly recommend it but don't buy it with the intentions of actually using it to cut anything.

Got this sword two days ago. Overall, I'm very happy with it. The dragon piece on the end is somewhat poorly and hastily painted, and the throwing knife doesn't fit in all the way and sticks out. The throwing pin is hardly what I would call a weapon, as it's rounded and about as sharp as a ballpoint pen. But that's just me being picky I suppose. The sword itself is very pretty, and the scabbard is really a work of art. The little metal piece in the handle is a little loose, but if it comes off it shouldn't be too hard to glue if need be. All and all, this is a gorgeous piece for your collection and will definitely stand out.

First, for those who have absolutely no idea about all the parts like "tang" and other complicated things on a sword and only want to get a sword, is this a good sword? Yes, not bad for it's price. Now, this is nice, the steel is CARBON steel, not stainless, what does this mean? it means that it wont snap from how brittle it is, and even more awesome cutting power, it IS full tang, now one catch, this sword is duller than a bat, and I would say you would have to spend at LEAST 3-4 hours to sharpen this sword to a good edge, now imagine is if WAS sharpened (budk you listening?) that would be awesome! Complaints: some defects I found in my sword, the tsuba wobbles like mad, not gonna do much that is bad given the blade is held in by the handle, but it makes it feel a bit cheaper, also, i'm not the only one here to have defects in the sword. even still, return policies are nice given they work. Now, what is even cooler is that not only you get a sword, but a throwing spike and knife too! Collaborating to other reviewers: "this is not stainless, it will rust within 20 days" - that is because it is carbon steel, it actually is BETTER, if you do maintenance every once-in-a-while. "the knife and spike don't allign right" - found this on many reviewers, guess this is a defect, given I didn't have a problem with that Now to final thoughts: I say buyer beware, this sword seems to frequently come with defects, but none that are unfixable, if you know how to do even basic maintenance, you should be fine getting this sword. And the fact this blade had alot of good things for low price makes me happier to have this in my collection. budk, not a bad job on this sword, but checking everything is right so defects arent as common seems to be what you should start to do for this sword.

Short review: I am highly impressed with this sword. It's not overly expensive but has a very nice traditional opulent look. All the décor makes it seem more like a royal blade than one that would belong to a soldier in the field. It has some flaws, but what do you expect for 30 bucks? Despite what the bullet points above say, the blade is made of CARBON STEEL (labeled directly on the blade), not stainless. That said, this blade can be used without concern. The full tang also ensures that this blade is battle ready. I wasn't quite sure what to expect in terms of décor due to the low cost, but I am not disappointed. The hilt is covered with beautiful sculptures of dragons along with a metal dragon pommel at the end. (the dragons on the actual hilt are just plastic). The tsuba is really neatly done and also made of metal. It's unique because one part of it is lower than the other so it's like a spiral more than a flat circle. The scabbard is coated with almost too many details to talk about! It's wrapped with a nice red cord, has several colored metal bands around it, and has a very nice golden textured cloth wrapped inside the cord. The rest of the sheath is a very glossy red with some abstract markings. The markings look a bit like scribbles at first, but I think they're actually quite a nice touch. The end of the sheath has another metal gold dragon head on it. There is also a throwing spike and throwing knife hidden within the sheath, but to be perfectly honest, they are not worth much more than decoration. That's the only flaw so far! I better get to the blade before I run out of character space. It's not highly polished, or very sharp out of the box. Just take a polishing kit (or even some alcohol) and clean it off. The blunt blade is great though! Why? You can sharpen it how you like! It may even be able to be sharpened as a single bevel blade. Overall, this is a very nice sword for the money. Good value as always!

This is a classic example of a sword like object. Its intended purpose is to hang on a wall and look badass. At which it exceeds expectations. Under no circumstances however should you take it down, draw it from the sheathe, and expect to cut something. stainless steel is good for kitchen knives and preventing rust but at these lengths its brittle, inflexible nature becomes problematic and if mishandled can cause serious injury. in short buy it because it looks cool, not because you actually expect to use it.

Firstly, I really love this sword. An admirer of the 'KATANA' style sword, I love this one as a 'display' piece. I was very excited opening the box and packaging! It has a very nice heft to it and is very very stylish, though it is not a practical weapon! The blade is not very sharp, but can be; I personally wouldn't change this aspect. The color coordination is fantastic though upon scrutinization, the detail could have been finer. Then there's the problem with the hand-guard - you can hurt yourself if used incorrectly. Overall, this is a great piece at a great price. And...everyone I've shown it to is both envious and awed! I would recommend this to anyone interested in displaying weaponry rather than for practical usage. Here's an added note: I was watching 'Doctor Who - episode-'A Good Man Goes To War' and spotted this exact sword being carried by one of the cast -- AWESOME!!!

For $20, this sword is an impressive piece. It has a sturdy build, nothing rattled when I shook it, as has happened on other more expensive swords I've held. The blade comes dull, which suited my purposes just fine but may not suit others. On the downside, the throwing spike and throwing knife fell out in transit and I have as yet to properly fit them back into their sheaths on the scabbard. The dragon shaped guard looks good, but grinds painfully against your knuckles if you hold the sword too far up the hilt. The blade is also wonderfully light. Unfortunately, and unexpectedly at this price point, the sword is nowhere near strong enough to stand up to any kind of combat.

Not impressed. Cheaply made blade, and dull. Ornamentations are nice for display.

For the price, it's not a terrible sword. You'll notice in the sheathed picture, the knife is sticking up a bit and the shiv shown on sheath alone has the top cut off to look flat... This is misleading, but the knife and shiv are supposed to stick out of the sheath... the image does not show you just how detailed the sword is... the metalwork is very intricate, however, the blue is added haphazardly. The paint can be removed without harming the metal with a bit of baking soda and lemon juice... All in all, it's a great DISPLAY sword... Careful of the ceramic sheath... it chips and cracks easily. Don't force the knife/shive into the sheath past where the molding touches the fabric covering. Total time to remove the blue was 1 hour, 14 minutes...

Beautiful piece no doubt about that. But honestly if you think you're going to get a battle ready Katana for $29.98 I'd like to know what your smokin'. By all means get one for show, keep it oiled, baby it, hang it proudly on your wall or on a stand. But as far as it's function? Well you could spread butter on your breakfast toast with ease. Remember people you will NOT find a Battle Ready Katana for $30.00. Like I've said in the past, if you want something you can actually cut with then spend the extra chedder and get yourself something nice. BUDK has some really nice swords as I have 2 of them and love them dearly. I also have show pieces that rarely come off the wall or stand. I'm not saying don't buy yourself a $30.00 Katana, some look amazing and are great conversation pieces, but throw in a couple Battle Ready Katanas so you don't look like a neo maxxi zoom dweebie ;)

There is no way this is a battle ready sword when it is made with stainless steel and not carbon steel.

This sword was and is absolutely terrible. It is not Stainless steel, will rust within 20 days, and is terrible for chopping anything, really. It does NOT include any sort of throwing knife/spike at all. This sword is an utter LIE

I have been a collector for a while now and this was going to be a gift and when it arrived I was so disappointed I was embarrassed to give it as a gift buyer beware it is crap
