The Polish MP4 “Bulldog” Gas Mask was one of many Eastern European clones of the US M17 gas mask and was issued to the Polish People’s Army. By using the internal cheek filters, the MP4 gas mask provides a wider field of view than more traditional gas masks. The MP4 only had minor updates to its American counterpart. The most notable differences are the lenses, which are slightly farther apart, and the frames and voice diaphragm are a silver color. Also, the “nose” is slightly less pronounced, which gave the gas mask its nickname of “Bulldog”. It has a tough rubber construction with six-point adjustable head-straps. The large eye lenses allow for an excellent field of view and the speech diaphragm makes communication easy. The gas mask comes in a carry bag and a set of filters are included.
