Been reviewing internet and finally decided on this little gem. It is well worth the money and everything works as described.

some guys complain about quality but what do you want for $10? I was satisfied. Small package a bunch of features I just put rubber band around to hold some stuff on otherwise you loose it. Cheap, functional, and all in a small package. You don't even know it is in your pocket! Works wet to boot!

As an Eagle scout, I've always found value in a smaller set like this. The compass works, the magnifying glass can help you make up for the size if you can't read it for any reason or light a bird's nest (not a real one, before non-scouts freak out), a temp and hygrometer set to give you a real idea of the conditions you are in, a flashlight, and a whistle that hits some serious decibels. The problem, however, is the flint and striker. I followed the directions and everything, but still can't get it to spark. I'd honestly have an easier time using the old stick-rubbing method.

The compass part of this device works great. I can't get the compartments open for the mini survival kit. what i bought it for was the EZ stored mag glass and the compass itself. the temp gauge is mildly accurate, and that is more than needed survival situation.

Maybe it's just me, but I expected this to be a larger; as it is, when folded it fits entirely within the palm of your hand. This makes the fire-starter cumbersome to use, and I had the same issue with the flint breaking off. Krazy Glue fixed it (for now), but I wouldn't call it reliable unless you had something extremely easy to light. It'll make sparks, but not very many and not very often. The compass, whistle, and level are all good, and the thermometer is typically in the right range, although not totally accurate. I don't have anything to compare the hygrometer against. Overall, I'd say ten dollars is pricey for this, but it's not bad to have.

Wonderful over all compass with good mini-tools. The sparker rod works fine with small tinder bundles, whistle is quite loud, lens can start fires but takes longer then most glass lens. Level bubble helps to keep compass pointing dead on so you don't get false reading. Only real down side with mine is that the thermometer is stuck at 80o but over all must have for a small bug out bag.

Everything works OK, except flint/striker, could not get a spark.

Compass is OK. Everything is a little smaller than I would have hoped. Also, I cam't seem to generate a spark on the flint starter. Any videos of this?

The flint components did not come as advertised, the part you strike against wasn't long and after several attempts, the flint broke off the handle and I could never get a spark.
