United Cutlery Pathfinder Tactical Knife & Sheath

After receipt, I immediately ordered another, I was so pleased. (I'll, likely, order more, to keep on-hand as impressive, reasonably-priced gifts.) The sheath tab-button holds the knife rather tight, at first, but has become smoother with use, and is now, just right. The synthetic-rubber inserts, in the thick aluminum handle, are effective grip enhancers. Even though aluminum, the pommel makes a useful bludgeon, due to the mass of the full-tang 1/4" blade backing it up. The blade size and mass makes the knife a good woodsman's "chopper", as well -- almost a hatchet!

Every time i have a knife i look for perfection and this knife is it. each knife i have should be tough enough to take a beating i put in there way. in short words zombie ready and survival ready.

This knife seemed like a good buy from the description and look, and i have to say it goes beyond a paragraph and pictures. This is something you need to experience. The weight and size are a pleasant surprise and the sheath is nice and durable. But the only thing i must complain about is that it does take some effort to get it in and out of the sheath but that's just a small problem if you ask me. United has not failed me yet. This is a working combat knife. The tip has a 90deg edge but that makes it super strong for it's intended purpose, self defense in a combat zone. The rest of the edge is razor sharp. The compass is pretty much useless but the knife is amazing for the price. Well done UK!

All in all, I'm very pleased with this knife. Pros: the blade is exactly 3/16" thick, not 1/4", but still plenty thick enough. Perfect size handle, at least for me. Good overall weight. Nice serrations in a good location on the blade. The compass I received is very good. Cons: the tab that secures the knife in the sheath is entirely too tight (mine anyway). It took me so much effort to get the knife out (I was beginning to think it was epoxied in the sheath!), that when it finally released, it could have easily caused an injury. Be careful! Like a previous reviewer, I will definitely be grinding the tab down. Lastly, the knife had heavy oil on it, which I am removing, but each time the knife comes out of the sheath, there's more oil, so this will take a while to clean up. Bottom line: this knife is well worth the purchase and I would recommend it - it should last a lifetime.

Twice the knife I thought I was getting, for the price. Heavy, thick blade, should last forever. The blade had a good nick in the edge, had to stone it for a bit to clean it up. The sheath is ok, way too tight, in my opinion. I ground down the tab a little to make drawing it out easier. For the price, I'm impressed, even with the petty things.

this knife feels so great it feels really durable. but when i took it out of the box when i got home. (it was freezing out) i opened the box because i was excited for my new knife i tried to take it out of the case and the little tab that holds the knife in the sheath broke. DON'T OPEN IT WHEN IT IS COLD!!!!!!! otherwise it is a great over all knife. and it comes with and awesome compass!

Great knife, holds up to testing well, holds an edge very nicely, 9 out of 10 on the knife. The sheath is good but the rivets holding it to the strap are a joke. Only thing holding this back is the strap. The sheath functions well, you just have to use a little force, which I think is good. Do you really want a blade that is a quarter inch think dropping while you're on a run? I certainly don't.

Received the knife today. Upon opening, the knife was a little dirty and not very sharp, which are easy fixes. Great weight for its size and the grip is very comfortable. Had no problems with the sheath. Needs a little force to get it out but its become easier. Have a feeling the clip on the sheath will break off eventually. For the price of the knife, the quality surpasses what i had expected. Great buy.

I received the knife 3 days ago and so far so good. It has a nice solid and strong blade, but it can be sharpened a little more. The handle is comfortable, it allows a nice sturdy grip whether right side up or upside down. The sheath has a piece that secures the blade which really makes it hard to pull out. I just cut it off, NO PROBLEM!

This is the biggest knife i've ever had and would be excellent for a combat situation. Has a very thick and strong blade, handle as well. Handle has very good grip and ergonomical design weight is ok too. In fact when practicing you won't drop the knife easily. But would recommend sharpening and cleaning because it will need it. The knife itself is good but NOT a concealed carry the leg straps are useless, haven't found a way yet to reliably strap onto my leg. Can carry on belt or around shoulder. Still good for combat.
