How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Automatic Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

Substantial Quality Reviewed by Emmanuel Adan on Jun 30, 2017   5 out of 5

I purchased this knife as an all-around knifebecause it's a thin bodied knife with a seatbelt cutter and window breaker. It's very sturdy with a satisfying click to let you know it locked. It came fairly sharp out of the box. I would absolutely recommend this to someone if they were looking for a survival stiletto.

I bought one a few years ago. It was a great knife over all. One downside is I needed constant tightening. I used it as an EDC and I lost two screws in the first couple of months. I would have had the thing falling apart on me if I hadn't noticed the problem and kept an eye on it. I ended up loosing it, and I'm looking at another one, but I'm disappointed to find out they don't have the old colors.

Seems to be a solid built knife blade does not move around like most cheap knifes put it through the ringer today prying and scrapping some stuff. Can't beat it for the price

Its a great knife for the price. Super sharp and easy to open. The only thing that I didnt like about the knife is that the part of the handle behind the clip gets hung up on pockets and waistbands. So its a real hassle to get it unstuck if you need it in a hurry.

I just got this knife few days ago and I love it! The knife is really sleek, I really like the look of it, its a thin knife and I like it. Weird to saw I think its a "sexy" knife....LOL, but other then that, knife came really sharp, and just as advertised, The price for this knife is fricken awesome really worth it. Got it at 8.99 before shipping on the sale they had.

This piece is by FAR the best pocket knife I ever owned. The release speed is just so fast and the blade is CRAZY sharp! The handle is complete steel and has a fery good feel and weight. Plus it comes with the belt cutter and window smasher combo. I also like how the blade has both a push and pull tab for both one-handed and two-handed release. This Stiletto is a MUST BUY!!!
