Anything can break wax wood is very strong If it is full of knots then you should have sent it back. and if you even a small child swings these sticks and hit a tree it will probably break. If some one knows how to use a staff then you would know you do not have to hit someone with a hard swing. you can control an attacker with one or two pokes and one lock and your attacker will pass out very quick. But you have to know what you are doing. A worn of advice don't hit tree's If you want to break bones take a class or buy a book just remember anything can break if not used properly. If you want a 6' stick to just swing and woop the crap out of somebody find a good piece of Maple strip off the bark shave the thicker end so both ends are close and let it dry in side do not leave in the sun it will split the stick it must dry slow.

Well balanced, smooth finish and uniform taper. I bought two 4-foot, two 6-foot. None of them have any knots in the wood.(That would be most likely cause of breaking, as reported by Jake and zerozombie.) Both lengths feel just right in the hand. If used as walking staff, it is useful to put cane tips or furniture leg tips on the bottom for increased traction and to protect the tip from splintering. I used furniture leg tips in off-white color, it blends-in very well.

I am using this shaft to make a replica of a native American spear. The wood is straight, strong and easy to craft. It is perfect for this application.

I bought 2 of these intending to try to make a fighting staff out of them for my Black Belt daughter and I ended up turning them down to a size a bit more comfortable for a woman's hands. I did this with a table top belt sander and about 2 hours of time. I had to really work on the balance since I was using a tabletop belt sander but in the end it was worth it. Its thicker in the center and tapered at both ends. We tried to stain it but its so hard and dense a wood it barely would take any stain however at full speed contact practice she has wiped out the other peoples staffs. She's bent the metal ones and broken some of the wood ones and tho this will get dented its never been damaged in any other way.This wood is all most indestructible and even the other students who she's loaned it to have said its an amazing staff. I intend to buy a few more as I can see many uses for a staff this strong.

Have many walking and hiking..poles..staffs..........found..this staff to be very strong.....and great when walking dog..and exercising........am sure will increase uses in time,,,,

A good tough piece of wood. If you know what to do with it, it is an outstanding weapon. Stick, staff, cane, handle, weapon, cut, left whole or whatever it is a good buy. Your skill and imagination will make it yours. Highly recommend both sizes!

Strong, multi use. good for training, walking aid, or any of many uses.

I bought two of these. Both were solid staffs and just like the ones my Sifu had. Just remember they are not oak so they are lighter more flexible and not as strong. However, if what you want is White Wax wood staffs this is what you will get.

GREAT FOR HIKING

VERY strong and a superb staff for survival spear (or hiking)! Flex is just right also! The heavier one end is great for throwing balance in flight! Remember, it IS a tree and each one will differ in character to some degree! Overall I like it enough to own 3(each used for different thing)! The cost is great and it holds up well, unless you're trying to break it, then nothing will stand up under extensive deliberate abuse! Try one, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Having received a lesser product from another company, I was hesitant, but when I opened my package today I was overwhelmed with " customer satisfaction ",I am ordering another, now I need to go practice my new staff form ...thxzamundo Smitty

this staff is fantastic, its not bulls**t that other guy must have gotten a defective one as I practice martial arts 21 hours a week when I bought this and had broken every staff I purchased straight in half until this one. it is the thickest staff I have been able to find and the only one that was able to handle the speed and power involved in my martial arts training. maybe he was using it on concrete or something but this wont break otherwise. use it on dirt, carpet, hardwood if you are careful but this isn't indestructible just very strong. you shouldn't be slamming it into the ground, martial arts is bodily control you should know when to stop to not break your weapon, going full force into concrete is not necessary and is an amateur mistake. it is supposed to be bigger at one end and smaller at the pother, you hold the bigger side with the smaller side as the striking end. This was so good that after breaking my spear shaft I had to transform this into the handle so I couldn't break it. now im here to buy another. fantastic. this is for sparring more so, so that you can better understand the durability. this isn't a performance staff but I use it like that anyway as the weight and size aren't an issue to me, it goes same speed as anyone else's' in my hands

I bought it for my 13 year old Grandson to use but I use it for walking and hiking and I love it. I'll let you know how it holds out the first time I run into a bear, but for now it works great as a staff.

I plan to leather wrap it. Mount an eagle head on one end or one the large talons. Should look great at the Pow-Wow.

I ordered your Wax Wood staff for use on my sailboat. I stained her red mahogany and sealed with mast varnish, and added an antique bronze boat hook to the top end. Looks great, functional, and will fend off pirate boardings!

Its durable, and thats very important when it comes to teaching new students, just as good as one of the more expensive stick weapons.

Truly unbreakable, I've put it through a lot of abuse and the darn thing has never yielded. The material is very soft however, even something as soft as a fingernail will leave marks on the staff. One thing i noticed is that the staff will bend and stay bend until i force it to bend the other way. The diameter is also a little small for my hands. Overall, I liked it enough to buy a second one.

It was a little crooked but I cut off 12" and it is better. I use this item for a walking stick while hiking in the mountains. It is stronger than I pictured and it has really helped.

Got this a day early then when I was told.<br />It's not really what I expected. But that being said, still good, flexible, strong, yet off balance due to it's "Fat end to Small end" design, single temper I believe?<br />It's a nice practice weapon. If Trueswords sold ones that were even on each end that would make my day.

i got 3 knots in my not well blanced not straight it is not a good fighting staff it be a good Dark Sorcerer staff

5 min out of the package my grandson and i went to try these staffs. his first swing against a small tree with a half hearted swing, it broke 2 feet from the end. the last 4 feet is tough so i will buy again but be aware they can break easy.

After three swings it cracked in half, now i'm pretty sure I do not have a super human swing, but I was able to save about 3 1/2 to 4 feet and turn it into a spear, works pretty well when thrown

I used this to work out with someone, At full speed 30sec. into the Workout the top 1/5 broke off...... So not unbreakable, but alright at 1/2 speed for about 30 Min i bet.
