Battle Ready Reverse Blade - Rurouni Kenshin Samurai Sword Full Tang

Reverse blade? Yes. Full tang? Yes. Razor Sharp? Yes. This is the reverse blade sword everyone has been requesting and waiting for. The guard and sword design is an accurate replica to the Rurouni Kenshin anime series. The blade is thick carbon steel with a sharpened reverse edge. High quality guard, glossy black lacquered scabbard, real ray skin, and tight black nylon wrapped handle. This sword can be disassembled for care. The blade-to-handle assembly is following tradition, and 2 bamboo pegs are used for total control over the full tang blade. A display stand is included.

Notice: This product is especially dangerous because of the sharp reversed blade and should not be purchased for youths. Please be especially alert while opening and handling this sword.

Story of the reverse blade sword:
A former Imperialist assassin, Kenshin grieves for the lives he has taken. He vowed to never kill again, and traded in his katana and wakizashi for a reverse-bladed sword. Also known as sakabato, the reverse blade sword was given to Kenshin by a master sword smith named Shakku.

About the Rurouni Kenshin manga:
Rurouni Kenshin is a set of manga and anime series created by artist Nobuhiro Watsuki, set during the early years of the Meiji period in Japan. The English versions of the OVAs as well as the movie are sold under the Samurai X name.

The series tells the story of Himura Kenshin, who ten years prior was known as the Battosai (Battosai in the English manga and as Battousai in the English anime), a Hitokiri (or "assassin," translated as "manslayer" in the American release of the anime) who helped bring about the downfall of the Tokugawa shogunate which ushered in the Meiji period. As a result, he is often sought after by people who want to either hire him for his skills, or kill him as revenge for his past deeds. Kenshin himself grieves for the lives he's taken, and has vowed that he will never kill again.

The manga originally appeared in the Japanese Shonen Jump Weekly Anthology, and the completed work consists of 28 tankobon volumes. The United States release of the manga is being handled by VIZ Media. Rurouni Kenshin is subtitled Wandering Samurai in some English releases. The name is sometimes abbreviated as "RuroKen." In Brazil, Rurouni Kenshin was published by "Editora JBC" in 56 volumes (each volume is a half of the original tankobon), maintaining its original Japanese manga reading format (from the top-right corner to the bottom-left corner of the book). Yahiko no Sakabato was released by the same publisher in July 10th of 2004, during an event that gathers anime, manga and games fans from all over Brazil called "Anime Friends", which is held every year in São Paulo. Kenshin Kaden, a Rurouni Kenshin encyclopedia was also released by the same publisher in November of 2004.

Not a cosplay toy but super satisfied Reviewed by Shoua Yang on Aug 20, 2017   5 out of 5

I thought this was gonna be a cheap anime sword like the rest but I was wrong about it when I opened it. It's thick, dense, and too sharp to be considered a cosplay sword. This reversed blade has to be made with 1045 or 1060 high carbon steel. It was worth the money for this reversed blade.

Well.... Reviewed by Matt Robinson on Jan 17, 2017   2 out of 5

Bought this, it's better than a cheap prop sword of course, but there was several blemishes in the crossgaurd and the tip bent extremely easy. It would be a nice decoration, but I wouldn't advise it to use.

Must buy Reviewed by on Nov 13, 2016   5 out of 5

I just got mine in the mail yesterday, if you are a fan of Rurouni Kenshin. its a must buy, tho I had to sharpen it for a razor sharpness. The steel is good for light cutting. Another excellent sword for my arsenal

Mine just came in the mail yesterday and i couldnt be more pleased its everything i could have imagined and just holding it brings so much feels from the manga/anime. The blade is sharp its all in prestine condition from the blade to the scabbard nothing wrong with it what so ever. Do need to draw it a couple times just to get it to draw easier but other than that 10/10!

The sword is very good quality and is exactly as shown. The only issue I have with it is the blade is not very sharp, other than that no complaints. Weather this is bought to be used or as a collector item it will not disappoint in the quality of craftsmanship.

So I bought this sword expecting exactly what I got. A cheap sword with poor craftsmanship. Heck they even misspelled handcrafted when they printed it on the blade. I blame the mfg not the retailer so this won't hinder me from buying further items and testing the quality.

this is a wonderful sword for the protector or executioner in you or if you need a good defence weapon this is it I have had mine for 8 years the leather was a little loose but other then that the sword is one of a kind thank you true swords we will do business a long time on a side note can you guys get the sword from the movie AZUMI the one with the spring loaded hidden blade in the hilt I would sooo buy it and BATTLE-READY swords from the hit anime sword art online kirito's and asuna's sword aswell, but anyway the sword is RAZOR sharp don't touch the edge all in all the sakabato is now my master sword I have mastered it in eight short years its a excellent sword if you have mastered everything from a Spanish saber to the claymore sword I recommend this sword next its weight is decent for training but I would advise covering the ray skin and leather in nylon wrapping to protect the ray skin and give an all over better grip thanks you true swords now if you can only get thouse other four swords when you do i'll be calling with credit card in hand thanks again keep up the good work.
