I bought this as a present for myself. It looks great among my Indonesian wall masks & exotic fish tank. The blade on this is a beast. The nag has a really easy, surprisingly light swing to it, and nice balance. Works great in the battlefield too. Use this to chop the legs off cavalry horses, then take out the rider. You can also leave this at home so your woman can ward off brigands & invaders while you're off at war. Get two; one for you, and one for her. No dowry gift quite says "I love you" like this does. Really ups the ante in your next kendo match too.

I found this Naginata Sword sturdy and having good balance. This is a nice sword for practicing samurai techniques. This sword has a good but manageable weight which provides realism when practicing swordsmanship.

This thing is absolutly awesome im amazed at how light it is for the size. it didnt come very sharp but i fixed that pretty quick. when its sharp the power u get from the long handle is great u can chop or slice threw pretty much anything. ive already sliced threw some saplings, alot of fruit, and some water bottles of various kinds and the edge hasnt even worn on the blade. All together an AMAZING blade.

this is very very nice! i would expect to pay 70 to 100 dollars for this item. it begs its own unique style, so dont treat it like a sword or a spear. this is somthing i definetly would not want to be on the wrong end of. the only thing i have a problem with is the sheathe, which can fly off if i swing just right. it doesnt matter how tight i make it. but otherwise i have no problems with this. thankyou trueswords!

The only words that can effectively describe this piece are "absolutely stunning". A must for any collector. Sword came oiled and sharpened. Granted edge is not razor sharp but still sharp nonetheless. In describing the size please know that the described size is exact. The stock photos do not do this piece justice in my honest opinion. All wrappings are tight fitting. The pieces rustic and spartan appearance lend well to its intention as a battlefield weapon. While not ridiculously ornamental , the blade's functionality, construction, and no nonsense appearance more than out weigh its lack of window dressing. True Swords again I am impressed. Price was more than reasonable, delivery was speedy, customer service was excellent. I don't know how you are able to offer this piece at this price but well done. Definitely pleased with the purchase. Will purchase again soon.

FedEx just dropped it off, a bit of damage to the paint on the blade but thats just superficial, gives it a bit more appeal. This will be my first purchase from TrueSwords and I'm very pleased with it, who wouldn't? Its a big ass sword.

This is my first buy off trueswords and it really is a piece of art.

People say this blade can be used for cutting and all but to be honest i doubt it, the natural wood dosent feel very strong and sounds hollow when you hit it.(but thats the only part, everythnig else you know for a fact can handle serious cutting).

The ring is part of the tang which goes through the whole blade and the half sheith is a very nice touch to it, also its not really as big as you would expect it to be but im a big guy lol so idk.

But it really is worth the buy everything is nice in it and you wont be dissapointed, BUY IT NOW

Amazing, I have worked with a lot of swords, plenty i have been disappointed in, but this sword/naginata behemoth is astounding! the loop at the end is infact part of the tang, but it is wrapped in the clothe, which i personally like because otherwise it'd end up hurting you

the blade does not come sharp, but that doesnt mean it cant chop things, just the shear girth of the blade will do enough damage.

the tsuba is a very solid piece of steel, but be careful, i got bruises on my thumb and knuckle just from it rebounding

i highly recommend this blade, very versatile and strong, only thing i was a little disappointed with are the blood grooves, they are not as deep as i thought they would be

but thats just it! theres such perfection in this sword i had to lookfro something bad.

order now, thank you trueswords

This sword is unbelievable. I begged for this one as a gift a couple years ago, and could not believe my eyes when I saw it. The beauty of this is in its simplicity, it just looks like it's meant to do a job, and that's all. Nice sharp edge, very good balance; some thought definitely went into making it durable and functional. Love it!

Awesome sword. Bought it and couldn't put it down. Its a lot bigger then i expected. Extremely sharp on arrival and has stayed just as sharp for the past year. So far it is my favorite in my collection. The only draw back is that the cord grip on the handle after some usage loosens. Otherwise a absolutely flawless sword. Well worth your money. Perfection.

still a good sword for the price. I did disassemble handle after reading other review. found out why the handle loosens. it is a welded tang. I will replace the metal in handle w/ better. as far as cording...well I will record full length of handle. that and whet rock on edge and I will still have one of the best low price swords around. anyone needs to know that most swords you buy nowadays is for show though, since we don't live in feudal japan in th 1600's. all in all still great.

United Ikazuchi Forged Ninja Katana 1045 Carbon Sword UC2586 is my sword of favor. i bought this naginata for my wife a couple of months ago because she is rather proficient at using a bo staff. this is a good cross-over to a bladed weapon for her. as we spar functionally i have noticed that this naginata is the only bade that i have sparred with that has nicked my blade. if you read my review of the ikazuchi you will realize how awesome this naganata must be.

This is a very nice sword. it's powerful, has a nice balance, and is overall very much worth what you pay. My only little complaints are that when you first swing it. the wood tends to squeak and one of the three wrapping on it came undone, but it's really not much of an issue. I looked it over very thoroughly and can assure you it is a very good, full tang weapon. this is NOT a purchase you will regret!

out of the box it was severely dull, i swung it around a little and got squeeking from the stress on the wood, i really hope this is a full tang peice because it feels like it's not. all in all it will make a very nice addidion to my collection

I have had to re-wrap the handle after I broke all the wooden handle off. Old bicycle inner tubes and about 4 square feet of leather and more inner tube and the original cord wrap work perfectly and provide excellent grip when destroying thick tree limbs and old thorn vines alike. Next to the United full tang katana and black o'dachi, this naginata is my favorite functional piece.

Overall worth the price. And by far my favorite piece due to the practicality of the weapon. A sword on a staff, whats better than that. But... The wood is pretty cheap and a little loose after swinging it. And the blade is not that sharp. Still will recommend that its a great buy.

This Naginata is great to look at, but short on functionality. It's steel does seem hand forged, but it bends easily, has a lacking edge, and isn't full tang. The chords on the handle also come out of place easily. I can't complain at the price, though.

I was disappointed with this sword. It is only half tang, meaning the tang is not ALL the way down, and the blade edge was like a that of a letter-opener when it arrived here. Also that balance is odd but not the worst. I would not recommend this sword.

I just recently bought this to stress test it and I think it is a fair weapon. It is indeed high carbon but it is not very dense, and the metal is soft enough to where it bent after a few whacks at a tree. The blood grooves on mine were fake, only scratched onto the surface. The point is sharp enough and it is a heavy weapon. The wood is not staind, but it gives a nice rustic look. The ring is solidly attached, but not part of the tang. It seems to have wood or plastic rivets holding the blade inside the handle. The cord is nicely wrapped, and it is easy enough to sharpen this with a diamond stone. The metal guard fits snuggly, and sharpened the blade can do heavy damage, but requires either constant sharpening for a razor edge or a 10-15 degree hunting edge. The tang runs most of the length of the shaft but is not a full profile tang, more of that of an arkansa toothpick knife. The spine of the blade runs an impressive quarter inch. Should the shaft split, the blade makes for a nice scmitar

I just got mine. Unfortunately the handle was broke on arrival. The blade had a bit of thick browning rust but cleanable. The blade itself seems decently strong and sharpenable. It does have some heft but a interesting balance to it. Strikes do seem to have power even at odd angles. I would like for the manufacture to spend a bit more TLC and increase the price. I believe at that level a fine weapon would go to a great weapon at a good price.

I am in love with this weapon. With its massive blade and unique design this is a great piece to add to your collection.
Although it has a lot of great quality to there is one weak spot to this weapon. The hilt is not strong enough to hold together it will break after a strong attack.
