I'm a huge fan of the 80's ninja movies and this sword is definitely worth every penny .I own 5 other katana's from 1060 to t10 clay tempered blades and I will say this one is well built and sturdy the only thing was the breathing tube that was supposed to be in the saya was missing ?? not a big deal but customer service should check these things b4 shipping and the Tsuba is not copper like advertised it's steel the blade is super sharp out of the box and for the price I paid $40 that included shipping very happy with this sword......

As always, True Swords had my sword to me 2 full days earlier than the "package tracking" stated. I have already purchased this sword once before. I love it so much i wanted another one just like it. Great sword. Love it and its "twin". i was NOT disappointed!!! True Swords is awesome. i highly recommend this sword. will probably be adding a few more of these to my collection.

This is the first katana I've ever purchased. While my knowledge of blades is growing, my funds are limited, and this seemed like a good deal. I believe it was. The construction seems solid. I've had it for a couple months now, and for the minor abuse I've put it through, I've had no issues. The blade came decently sharp out of the box, but I like my blades to have an edge that can split frog hair, so some brief moments with a whetstone later I got it how I like it. I'm happy with my purchase. Definitely not a close quarters weapon, but in a nice, wide open space, this can be formidable.

This is the first sword I've ever gotten/held. Its a bit heavier than i thought it would be, has a very snug fit with the sheath, has a very silent swing and a thick blade. This sword would be very hard to break unless you're out there hitting trees or something (not sure why you want to). Only prob i had with it was that it wasn't that sharp out of the box. It did cut threw the box it came in fairly easily, but barely sliced threw a sheet of paper. But i easily sharpened it and now it cuts threw paper, cardboard, and bottles like butter. Ive yet to try it on anything else but I'm sure it could handle almost anything you throw at it.

This is the ideal battle sword. Not for siege nor confined spaces seeing as how is quite long. Although if shadow techniques are applied space will not make a difference. Its sharp as the devils tongue and sturdy as an oak tree. note this is not a toy this blade seeks blood. True ninja sword indeed.

Wonderful sword to have. Love the color and its handling is among the best along with the weight. It's a very silent sword and very sharp. If your wonder what the stick that comes out the bottom for like I did. The sheath doubles as a snorkel which if your a ninja or assassin you'll need for under water movement. Excellent sword great for any collection.

Finally received my order, and I was a little hesitant in believing all that I read about these swords. My past experience with these items were iffy if at all certain. Besides just one other quality katana that I have bought a while back these that I received from True Swords are the ones I have been hoping for. I would be lying if I did not admit to being pleasantly surprised that everything I read about these swords came out true. Reviews, now are the way I now have started to get my info to evaluate and determine if I will be buying or passing up this product. Reading the reviews before seeing the price at True Swords sometimes would throw me off because I thought for sure they were out of my financial reach, but I was wrong, and glad of it. I will now start my collection with confidence that I will be buying quality swords at a great price

BEAUTIFUL SWORD. Just got serious about collecting swords and this was the perfect sword to start with. It feels solid and well built. WELL WORTH the $59.99. I have paid 2x as much for swords not even a 10th of this quality. Ordered it on Sunday (standary shipping) and got it Tuesday. Super Fast, TRUE SWORDS !

I actually got this sword four years ago. As such, I can give a fairly good perspective on the life-span of this blade (or at least, better than most reviews which are written soon after purchase). It was my first real non-replica sword.

This sword arrived in near perfect condition. The blade was sharp with no scratches or nicks, the handle was sturdy and tightly wrapped, and the tsuba was firmly well secured. The saya had no scratches and was a beautiful solid black, and had a snug grip on the sheathed blade.

To keep a four-year-long story short, it is still in almost the exact same condition. I have only cut a few objects with it, and generally haven't done much else with it than display it, and pull it in and out of the sheath many many times (either for just swinging around or showing off). The blade is still sharp and black as ever, and shows no signs of rust after only being oiled once a couple years ago; it has been in both very dry and somewhat moist environments (a swamp-cooled home in the summer and monsoon season gets fairly moist). The handle has shown no signs of unwrapping after being handled quite a bit. The saya still holds its nice grip on the blade when sheathed, and has proven fairly resistant to the light smacks it has (rarely) received (from the corners of walls or doors and the like).

As far as I can tell, this sword will remain in great condition for many years to come. It made me a firm believer in the quality of Musashi Swords from day one. I hope nothing has changed about this sword since back when I got it, because it has been everything a sword enthusiast could want from it. One thing to note, though: the description used to read that the blade was made from 440 stainless steel, whereas now it just says "carbon steel". It should be nothing to worry about, as 440 stainless is still a kind of carbon steel, so it might just be a different way to say the same thing. When I got it, this sword did cost $74.99; but if you know TrueSwords, you know they've got the best prices, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lowered the price because that's just what they do, because they're awesome like that.

In any case, I fully recommend this sword in every way possible. I give it 10 stars out of 5.

1 word AWESOME wow true swords you have done it again thanks. A new treasure in my collection, though a little heavy, and the snorkel is worthless I love it. Nicely wrapped handle, super sharp blade superb for the price. Hell its a steal, don't pass this one up.

One word: awesome. This thing rocks! Came really sharp with a fair amount of oil on it, which disappeared after a few draws. Came real sharp. Cut through the box like it was nothing. Definitely worth it, and awesome buy for only 60 bucks plus shipping. Will definitely buy from Trueswords again!

One thing that surprised me about this product was it's weight. The lack of a blood groove is akin to putting a silencer on a gun, but makes the blade heavier than a normal katana. But this is a minor flaw, if you can even call it a flaw. I actually like the added weight, which is great for training purposes and plus I wouldn't hesitate to bang swords with anyone with this baby, unlike a regular katana that would dull after a few strokes (I am extremely protective when it comes to my katanas, as anyone should be).

Considering this is my first ninja (straight-blade) sword, I am very happy with my purchase. If you would prefer a light, fast sword, I wouldn't recommend this, but I feel like the added weight/power and stealth of each stroke is ideal for fighting in a dark room, which is why this would be my weapon of choice if someone breaks into my house. Plus it's just a well-made blade for being so cheap, everything is put together extremely tight and sturdy. Personally, I give it a 5/5.

ok this sword is possibly the best quality you can get for your money. the first thing i would do when i order this sword is get some tameshigiri with it because the first thing you are going to want to do is slice something in half (its just natural instinct) man+sharp sword=everything in half, or little pieces.

This was my first blade from True Swords and all i can say is OH MY GOD, this is perfect but the paint on the tasuba wears away wen you draw it and the scabbard is as loose as Vinnie C.'s mom.but overall the blade itself is very beautiful..

Great sword! Overall no complaints, the sword itself is a tad blade heavy but it can easily be compensated for, the metal seems a tad on the soft side but this blade can easily take a beating. Very solid construction, blade sharpness (atleast my blade) didnt need sharpening, came razor sharp. Another Excellent Trueswords buy! Thanks guys!

Simply put, Perfection.

Came sharp, and i mean sharp. First day I got it I cut through a 3/4 inch dowel wrapped in a soaked rice mat. which most swords cant even get through.
Great buy
Great for a gift
recommend it to any one.

A very good deal at the price, and excellent customer care.

I did not expect much from this sword because if the very low price, but it is a steal at the price to say the least. I might dare say that there is no better sword for the money.

A very fine cutter, against which no water filled jug is safe while this sword is in my hand.

Was originally shipped with a slightly defective scabbard, but was quickly replaced with a perfect unit by Trueswords immediately upon notifying them.

Thank you Trueswords. I will always look to you first for all of my future sword stuff.

I was so excited to have my first ninja sword. This sword is awesome. My sword came in perfect, with no defects. This is the ultimate traditional stealth sword, as well as strong and an excellent price for its value. Musashi makes really good quality swords, though the sheath feels it's made of a cheap material, but maybe it's just my opinion since I'm new to sword buying. What's important is the actual sword is high quality.

I tried ordering this same sword from a different site, and it took 2 months before I just gave up and canceled my order since they were pulling my chain saying it was stuck in customs and gave lousy service.

But then I discovered True Swords, and got my order within 2 days! So if you're doing research on where to purchase a sword online, go with True Swords. Awesome prices, quick shipping, and excellent service. You won't be disappointed.

I saw this sword several years ago at a showing in New Mexico, it was amazingly sturdy and razor sharp. I was extremely happy when I found it on True Swords. I immediatley ordered it and recieved it a week later. Unfortunately my scabbard had a large crack in it next to the mouth. I emailed True Swords about this damage and they resolved the problem immediately. I have never been as satisfied with an online store's customer service as I am with True Swords! The sword itself is 100% quality built, it is rigid, sturdy, and extremely sharp. There is no sway whatsoever in the blade and the grip is built to obtain maximum friction. I would recommend this item to someone looking for a show pice or for someone who just wants a sword to go hacking around in the woods with. This sword is the best I have seen so far! 10 Stars!

I'll be real with you. This sword is by far the best sword i've ever purchased for its price. I don't feel cheated in anyway in fact i feel like I should of paid more for it. i WANT to pay more for it. it's in a beautiful condition especially the blade, well oiled and sharp. the sword all in all is balanced and perfect. Honestly the picture gives you an idea but once you open it [like i just did] you'll fall 100% in love without any doubts. Thanks TrueSwords.

Absolutely wonderful sword. I was skeptical at first about buying one online, but my fears disappeared when this came in the mail. Very sharp (cuts through 2 tatami mats with ease) and considering its katana length the weight is just about right. Excellent job true swords I will definitely buy from here again.

WOW! I have bought alot of swords and blades in my years of collecting, but....this is one that has surpassed most everything else in my collection -- even the one and only sword in my collection that has drawn my blood, which I hold nearly "sacred" in my arsenal. This sword is much weightier than any other Ninja Sword in my collection as well, and from what I can tell just straight out of its box opened only moments ago...well, this is one heck of a blade! You guys have outdone yourselves with this. There is no movement to the blade; no wobble -- its very sturdy and would *REALLY* pack a punch in a true battle. Can't wait to get a chance to put it through its paces in a few tests of my own! Thanks, True Swords, for bringing this awesome addition to my collection! Well Done!

It was due to come in on the 24th, but it came in two days early, which was sweet. The blade wasn't exactly straight, but it was pretty sharp, and the weight felt pretty nice too. There was also lots of tiny bits of residue from various things, I've started getting it off, as there isn't very much. Overall it was definitely worth the purchase.

I bought this sword right after my beautiful girl bought me the ten ryu sword and it was much cheaper but way better. I of course took it apart and found unlike the ten ryu which had nothing on the tang, had shinobi but no musashi or musha. I figured it was better than nothing lol. Other than that it has out done the ten ryu by far. And for the price it is definitely exceptional. Thanks for the good deal true swords.

Just got the sword today despite placing an advanced order but after looking it over, the sheathe itself has a couple of scratches and dents but the blade itself feels well made and appears very clean. Haven't had a chance to test its cutting ability but overall, its pretty nice and feels pretty durable. You can feel the weight and tang too which makes me pretty happy

I've wanted this sword for a while but only just now bought it as my third functional sword.

Because it doesn't have the blood groove it's a little heavier than the average katana, which can be good and bad. Fits in the saya nicely but it's not a completely snug fit. No sound from any of the fittings and the blade is nicely shaped.

I was surprised when I found the pull out for the breathing hole, guess I looked over that bit in the description. The bamboo plug sits snugly in its place and doesn't come out at all. Though personally I wouldn't use a saya like that; that's what a blow gun is for.

I'd prefer real ray skin, but the false skin isn't too bad. The saya doesn't seem to be entirely wood either. Looks like wood encased in a hard black material similar to plastic. But I could be wrong. Can't really tell if the menuki are cast metal or plastic though.

Mine came with some chipped paint on the end of the saya. Not a big deal. Just looks like someone returned it after not taking care of it. Some of the fittings were also a little scratched, but again not a big deal.

It's a little long to be worn on the back in true shinobi fashion. And it being straight only adds more complication to that. (I'm 6'3" with proportionate arms and I struggle to unsheathe it at times. A little practice is all that's needed though)

Cool sword..... the only thing bad is the saya (sheath) is very loose. The sword easily comes out, which is very annoying, but as for the blade itself its a great buy! Black blade is very cool, its sharp, and durable.

I just got this today and all in all its a pretty cool sword. The blade and scabbard have great color. Overall it has great looks but when you really look close there are a lot of imperfections. There are a multitude of dings and scratches on the blade and scabbard. Also, its about as sharp as a butter knife. When I order a sword I never expect perfection so I'm happy enough with the buy.

A very nice blade, it is basically what I expected. Mine is almost perfectly balanced and has a decent sharpness to it. The sheath at first was very hard to get loose from the sword, after I broke it in though it started coming out perfectly while still being very secure. The pure black blade is a very nice touch. At the bottom of the sheath there is a cool little wooden tube for a snorkel or blow gun. It's a neat little additional feature. For $60.00 it's a great deal. I think most people would consider it perfectly balanced but I'm a perfectionist on this kinda stuff. The sword has a couple little scuffs and scratches but very minor. This is my first purchase from True Swords. I will definitely buy from them again.

I received this sword with in two days of my order, because true swords is awesome. The sword itself is a pretty sword, has a unique ninja feel to it, I would definitely reccomend buying it, and buying it from true swords if you want it quickly. The only thing that disappointed me was there isn't a "Musashi" engraving above the tsuba like in the picture. The sword is full tang, but the blades I own from the Amakuni Tachi series, the "Dark Orient" and "Sea Dragon" blades feel more stable.
