From Ancient Japan to the Anime and video games of the present, Kunai knives have remained a trusted weapon choice for for ninjas.

History of the Kunai knife:

A kunai is an ancient kind of trowel, originated during the Tensho Era in Japan. The kunai was normally wrought of iron, not steel, cheaply forged and unpolished. The size of most kunai ranged from 20 cm to 60 cm, with the average at 40 cm. The kunai was used by common folk as multi-purpose gardening tools and by workers of stone and masonry. The kunai is not a knife, but something more akin to a wrecking bar. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Normally only the tip would have been sharpened. The uses to which a kunai was put would have destroyed any heat-treated and sharpened tool like a knife.

Kunai normally had a leaf-shaped blade and a handle with a ring on the pommel for attaching a rope. This would allow the kunai's handle to be wrapped to act as a grip, or when used as a weapon; to be strapped to a stick as an expedient spear, to be tied to the body for concealment, or to use as an anchor or piton.

Kunai's work great only the tip is sharp which is good for beginners so if you want them to be pro kunai simply get the accu sharp with these. Also the threading and ribbon will come off with a few throws but to me it works better without them??

A great buy

This is a great buy. The knives throw very easily and are very fun to have. The ribbons fall off but you can easily put them back on or just keep them off. Overall this was a great buy.

small but fun

the knives look great and they look just like the picture online but the string will easily untie or break. a few of mine the cord came undone in the first dew throws and on others the string stretched out and snapped. the look of the knives are amazing but im not impressed with the quality of mine.

Fun, Fun, Fun

This set has turned out to be very fun for me and my kid! She is 12 and saw me throwing and expressed interest, so i bought her these. They were better than i expected. We use them to throw inside at 3 ply cardboard and a target. She loves them and throws them well, sticking usually 4 out of 6. I enjoy them to. They may be only just over inched, but they fly well. We took ribbons off to start with, and supered teh knots on the handle cordage. They have held up well. The tips are very sharp but the blades are not, as a thrower should be. Its a great practice set and game play set.

These are amazing knives. Amazing buy. They are easily sharpened and throw great. The red ties at the top come undone, for me in as little as one throw.

As impressive as the image. Sure enough each one is different in its own way. Pretty nice set. I dont know if i'd say MASSIVE if they were refering to the size of the kunais but they deff come sharp! Worth it I just expected bigger like the other kunais i own.

I love these. They were part of my first order from trueswords, and I must say I am very impressed with the quality of their products. They are absolutely beautiful when brought into bright light and are easily sharpened with any whet stone. I will definitely be purchasing from trueswords again.

I have been told the sides arn't suppose to be sharp, just the fronts. This was my first set of Kunai knives, and I love them! The spectrum coating is nice to have, and it also prevents any risks of 'rusting' because its titanium coated. The red ribbons come off VERY easy, but the blue string is glued on at the ends of the string. Mine never unwrapped, only the red ribbons did. So, I'm leaving them on. The points are sharp, and I like the size of them. I have manage to get all 12 in, after 6 tries. I never thrown before, so it took a few tries to learn. They stuck in the wood great!
