It's great as a boffer. It's light, fairly sturdy, and should qualify as a "blue" with most orgs. It qualifies for Amtgard and possibly for Belegarth. If you're looking at this for practicing REAL s wordsmanship you aren't going to find it here. It's a boffer weapon, made for LARP's and full contact battle gaming. It's good if do those like I do but not for much else except for backyard sparring.
This was the 1st purchase I ever made from this website, and I was very impressed, and I can't wait to buy more items from this website.
I just got this sword in the mail and let me say, it is amazing! It's 3x better then I thought it would be. The quality is great, the weight is nice and, well, weighty! Not to mention that the blade is nice and squishy so that you don't get yourself hurt!
Pros: Very safe- highly unlikely to hurt anyone even if you tried. Worst that could happen is maybe a bruise or maybe a concussion if you repeatedly bashed someone in the head.Cons: Not very much like a real sword at all; very light with balance at center of whole item rather than at the guard. I also don't like the little ring of foam on the handle side of the guard.Summary: Okay for sparring, but not for much else. Don't expect to become a master of the blade from this toy-like 'sword'. Think carefully before giving it as a gift.
my 13 year old loves it ... his friends are buying them also.
