This axe should NOT be used at all. I was chopping into the end if a log and the blunt edge slipped and almost took out my leg. Also I managed to bend the head on the axe side. The ad states entirely solid steel. But the handle is hollow and dents easily. I tried to sharpen it and there is some sort of coating that looks horrible after using a stone on the edge.I ended up just mounting it on my wall and using it to scare people like meter readers and school kidsjust kidding it just stays on the wall. Wish I could get a refund or a credit for this piece of junk that is not worth the 20 bucks I spent.
they should make a video for this product to show its real size. It is nowhere close to the size it appears in that picture. The axe head is so much smaller in real life. The blade is super dull and the handle can't take much impact without bending or snapping. If I had known that this axe was not that size I never would have bought it.
When I first ordered this product I thought it would be flimsy, but when it arrived I was happy as hell! It's well weighted & a perfect weapon for re-enactments or even home protection!
The blade is very thin, not that I would use it anyway. These medieval items are only of historical interest to me, for display. By the way, the handle is very accurate despite what you might think. I found a photograph in a book on medieval arms showing that handle on a mace in a museum. The silver-colored disks on either side of the leather grip are identical to this axe.
Neat weapon. Terrible condition.I decided to buy it because I liked the simplicity of the axe and it is a good size for me, being a very short person. What I did not appreciate however was that I was sent an obviously used product. Not just wear and tear of shipment; but chips in the blade, scrapes on the face, the head out of alignment with the shaft, and the shaft itself bent slightly backwards. Whoever had owned it previously had favored it highly and had taken a good couple swings with it.To be fair, I quite like the worn look of it; but should I have wanted a pristine weapon, I would have been highly displeased. The product is very sturdy, however - it won't be coming loose any time soon - so props to that.I purchased this product along with the "Royal Knight Sword w/ Custom Scabbard & Blade," and found even worse conditions with that product than I did this.Overall, moderately displeased with the service and product. Although it is still quite badass.
Well for starters don't look at the picture in the right hand corner, totally misleading. The battle axe is only 2 and 1/4th feet long. Also the axe came a little rusted on the handle and on the head but that's nothing a little steel wool cant fix. Don't get me wrong its still really cool just don't look at the picture in the corner :)
Pretty good axe. Received it in the mail today. It had some scratches on it which was kind of a turn-off. But I didn't expect it to be perfect, it is a very good axe. It does come sharp, the only other thing that is wrong is that the picture for the axe is miss-leading, the head of it is no where nearly that big, that was my fault for not knowing though, I did not read the specs fully through. But for this price I am very pleased. Will defiantly be getting more axes from BudK soon.
It was a very good axe for a little while, but part of the shaft going up towards the axehead is hollow. I hit it off of something and broke off right at the base of the axehead. I don't fully believe it should be labeled as "battle-ready" when it couldn't withstand a hit. I realize that no weapon is impervious to damage, but not off of something such as a tree. It was a great weapon to have around for a little while though.
Battle Axe...good for the price...seems functional...looks cool on the wall....****.....BUD-K does it again!!!! Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.
awesome axe, come razor sharp i would defiantly recommend it.
