got this today and it is as advertised except for one thing. I cannot get the snap shut on the sheath . that's why the 4 stars.
I bought this when it first appeared on BUDK many years ago. Despite being made to be a spear, it is well balanced for throwing, and plenty durable as well. I would recommend a high quality professional painters pole if you want to make a quality spear. A cheap, wooden mop pole or a cheap, aluminum painters pole will do the job, but will bend and/or break if you actually have to use it to protect yourself. Pawn shops tend to have high quality professional supplies like painters poles. I have a really cool telescopic pole that I got for $10 at my local pawn shop. I could take out a prowler from a second story window!! Just got to make sure I maintain the element of surprise. Wouldn't want him to grab it and pull me out the window. Strongly recommend for anyone that wants to add something fun and unique to their collection. Plus, I have never had an issue with any SOG products, including this Fusion Spirit Knife. Enjoy
Bought this and the Smith & Wesson spear knife. Both are excellent, although the S&W is less expensive and just as good, in my opinion.
A little top heavy. Comes razor sharp out of the box. I haven't gotten to use it yet but it seems very sturdy. It also passed the cut paper test.
I was extremely pleased with the Spirit! When attached to a wooded broom stick, it throws pretty well. But be careful if you have big hands, unscrewing the Spirit causes your hand to grasp really close to the bottom of the blade and a little slip could prove messy. My only complaint is the sheath. I wear it on my belt and it catches a bit when I pull it out and if you dont put it in flush the tip of the blade will dig into the cloth backing. All in all this was a great purchase.
This is a tight blade. it fit a broom handle perfectly and became a deadly spear. penetrated deep into wood target. I highly recommend it because of its durability and versatility. It was an awesome christmas gift for my martial art son. sog blades never let me down.
Solid high quality piece, the part i like the best is it unscrews from the handle so you can screw it on to your own handle, like a nice heavy duty broom handle so you can spear them pesky varmints :) nice piece.ty again True Swords.
