A savage beast in the elegant robes of royalty
It may be called "Royal Emperor," but wield this powerful katana just once and you'll discover the soul of a savage lurking beneath the fanciful ornamentation and elegant facade. Like a wild, raging beast in the robes of a noble shogun, the Royal Emperor is indeed both a weapon and a work of art - from kashira to kissaki. Nothing epitomizes this better than the exceedingly powerful yet breathtakingly beautiful Damascus steel blade.
Damascus steel yields extraordinary beauty, brutal potency
A raging steel river of contrasting lines and distinctive patterning, the blade is no doubt a sight to behold. But this striking figure is more than just skin-deep, as each line represents a distinct layer of steel that forms the underlying fabric of the Royal Emperor blade. The result is a blade that's sharp and tough enough to cleave bamboo, rolled tatami mats and perform other tameshigiri trials, yet eye-catching and beautiful enough to display. Such visual appeal and capability could only be wrought by seasoned hands. Accordingly, each Royal Emperor blade is hand forged, using an ancient, time honored technique.
Power and majesty only seasoned hands could produce
One of Shinwa's master swordsmiths fires a stack of steel strips - each a different alloy - in a white-hot forge until the metal glows cherry red. He then removes the stack and hammers it until it’s around half as thick as the original. Then he folds the metal onto itself lengthwise and hammers each half together. The process is meticulously repeated time and again until the desired layering effect is achieved, at which point a final quenching strengthens the resulting blade blank and an acid etching highlights vivid contrasts in the layers. And the slow, laborious process itself it just the beginning!
Made of blood, sweat, tears and Damascus steel
To achieve sufficiently dramatic contrasts, Shinwa’s master smiths must expertly select an appropriate combination of steel alloys of varying color, luminescence and other visual qualities. For the sake of strength, resilience and countless additional blade factors, the smiths must also must consider each alloy’s distinct melting point, proper stacking order, forge temperature and myriad other variables. Simply put, an unbelievable quantity of blood, sweat and tears goes into every Royal Emperor blade, but lay eyes on it just once, and you’ll know it was well worth the trouble. Furthermore, like a steel snowflake or fingerprint, the patterning on no two Royal Emperor blades is exactly alike.
A lasting, hand forged legacy for the heirs to your own "throne"
The surprisingly affordable Royal Emperor has proven itself time and again, and it holds its own against any of today's most expensive katana, outperforming many. But the old cliché is true - "action" does indeed "speak louder than words," and at this unbeatable, downright unheard of price, why deny yourself the opportunity to experience Shinwa's Royal Emperor Katana for yourself? No matter how you use it, with proper care you can enjoy it for a lifetime. Then pass it down to your children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren! The Royal Emperor is heirloom-quality and built to be treasured by generations of your descendants; it’s your legacy preserved in hand forged Damascus steel!
