  • Razor-sharp 4034 stainless steel tanto blade is serrated
  • Non-reflective anodized black coating
  • M.A.G.I.C. assisted-opening mechanism
  • Impact-resistant aluminum handle
  • Ambidextrous thumb stud & finger actuator
  • Liner lock mechanism & sliding safety switch
  • 3.4" blade; 4.3" closed length

Each 4034 stainless steel blade is teflon-coated and features the ultra-fast M.A.G.I.C. assisted-open mechanism which can be activated by the ambidextrous thumb stud or the finger actuator on the back of the blade. Once activated the blade springs open at a phenomenal speed.

A blade safety switch ensures no accidental opens and a liner lock ensures the blade doesn't accidentally close while in use. 3.4 in. blade, 7.7 in. overall, 4 3/10 in. closed.

How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

Great knife

I've carried this knife every day for the last 3 years and I have to say it is by far the best knife I ever bought. I use it heavily and it's held up great. I just purchased another one because mine is starting to show some wear and tear as it should. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Knife

This is my third Smith and Wesson Black Ops assisted opening knife, I carry one, keep one in my truck and one in the house they are GREAT. I use mine a lot when fishing but they are also great for any cutting task.

This Knife Is Fantastic!!

I just had this knife shipped to me and right out of the box it was great. The safety switch is tricky at first but all you need to do is push down on the blade if it doesn't open when you unlock the blade. Other than those troubles this knife is exactly as described and is one of the best I have.

nice blade and hair popping sharp out of the package.
it opens well and fast i oiled it but you don't need to.
nice pocket clip on it and very sturdy, my blade was a little off center but no matter i give 5/5 for its greatness overall.
