How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

best pocket knife

after owning the first generation for over 3 years, the spring finally broke and I decided to order the second generation. its faster, lighter, and thinner than the first generation. ii love this knife! comes very sharp as well. if you looking for an assisted knife, this is the one to get.

For the money you get a well made blade. Kind of bulky to be a edc, so I keep this in my pack for backup. I need to put some loctite on the glassbreaker threads, it will rattle loose when carrying around. It also helps to clean and lubricated the slide for smooth deployment.

1st generation S&W out the front knife

When I looked in one of my new BK I saw a S&W out the front knife 1st generation, its the best works every time. The Blade has a Great sharp blade, you have to watch the screws on the forward and back lever but no problem a small amount of lock tight. I am Getting ready to order the second generation as soon as I can. By my skills the tanto is the best blade very strong and its legal to own, I can't wait until my new one gets here.
