Officially licensed replica from The Hobbit series. The blade is crafted of stainless steel with an aged, distressed, acid-etched finish just like the original filming prop used in the series. Kili's sword features solid metal and acrylic hilt parts and a leather-wrapped grip for additional authentic details. It comes with a wood wall mount display plaque. Measures 28-3/8" overall.
First off, upon calling about the warped blade issue thats noted all over the web I was told it was remedied. And, yeah, for the most part it is. The blade is not straight, it literally toward the top third "zig zags" a bit but its far better than receiving the letter C so I'll take it. Very solid and weighty. No blade wobble or anything, yes I swung it around a bit quoting movie lines lol.
WAS UNDER IMPESSION CAMED WIT COSTUME. Drangons not included. 10/10 would not recommend.
I can't help but be amazed by the way that United Cutlery manages to capture the feel and spirit of each prop reproduction, be it a heavy dwarven chopping sword or axe, a slim elven longsword or a wizard's staff of power. As always, Bud K manages to "magically" get them delivered in excellent condition and almost overnight!
I received this sword and it was the same good quality all Untied Cutlery items are.
The sword blade was bent. The blade had a slight "C" shape curve to it. After seeing this, and doing some research online i found this issue has come up with other people buying this sword from BUDK. I'm sure its a quality control issue and not a shipping issue due to the thickness of the blade. Budk is having this sword picked up and is sending another one out to me. so unfortunately have to wait even longer. It would be nice if they could send another one out as soon as this one gets picked up. I called customer service and emailed them pictures of the bent blade but they didn't seam to concerned. Ill post another review when i receive the replacement. I also asked customer service if this was an issue they knew about or had issues with since its release and they said no. Anyone buying this sword please call first and speak with CS, also check the blade as soon as you get it for flaws. On the plus side the rest of the sword looks amazing, and they boxed it up very well.
