How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Automatic Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

Sharper than I thought! :)

This knife is very well put together, it fits in the hand nicely, the blade came sharp, and it looks cool. This knife has yet to fail to amaze me. I was helping my dughter and her family move one weekend, and I happened to grab this knife to carry on me that day. When we got in the moving truck we needed to cut a rope. My son-in-law asked if anyone had a knife. My daughter, knowing I always carry a knife, looked at me. I handed my son-in-law this knife. He cut the rope with no problem. His reaction was the best, "WHOA!! That was sharper than I thought." I hadn't even sharpened the blade myself yet. Nice job Tac Force. I would definitely recommend purchasing this knife. Money well spent.

Good knife for the money

I bought this knife for the looks and the price. It is bult very sturdy and came very sharp right out of the box. I was helping my daughter and her family move, and I happened to have this knife with me. When my son-in-law needed a knife to cut a rope I handed him this knife. When he cut the rope I herd him yell "woah". When I asked him what was wrong he said he wasn't expecting the knife to be as sharp as it was. I would say I got my moneys worth and some.

i love this thing. opens smoothly, locks like a dead bolt and has good weight to it for a pocket knife. i am a giant fan of the tanto edge, razor sharp and a intimidating look to it. awesome

Amazing knife. Sharp as hell. Litt tough to get open with one finger, but spring assists are always like that until you break them in.
