Not very functional

This is quite a nice looking blade with good craftmanship involved in its construction. Its comfortable in the hands and very, very light. The lightness in the blade is part of the major problem that I have with this sword because it is incredibly easy to bend and it will NOT spring back into place at all. Im afraid to slice or stab into anything remotely hard because it could seriously warp the blade. Not at all functional in any sort of practical means. A very nice display piece only that wont fall apart on you like most other piece of crap swords you can buy. Just don't expect this thing to stand up to any sort of abuse.

i am loving this sword ! let me tell you that this is one of my absolute favorites. the steel in this blade is stunning( and loud ) it is more flexible than a solid blade, you have to keep a sharp eye out for rust ( no pun intended :) This is a big, heavy sword and takes a good bit of strength for a smaller person like me ( 5'3" ) to swing, but its still so much fun! i think you would be set if you could take lessons from an actual swordsman/teacher for this kind of blade, but to each his own ... if your like me and just sit at the computer and stare at this thing trying to either talk your self in or out of buying this just get it, you will not be sorry

Blade is gorgeous, Fits tight in saya, Kanji Chisel looks pretty, on the opposite side of blade in same spot of kanji in small print it says United Black and even smaller under it is written, Hand Forged China. this however is not deep in blade and can probably be taken off with some sand paper. The Habaki has wear on it from where it was sitting in saya. The seppas fit perfect, Tsuba is tight and looks great. The fuchi is perfect. The tsukais beautiful and has tight leather wrapping on it. Dual Pegs, black Same, gold dragon menuki on both sides (one placed low and one high), and the kashira matches the tsuba and fuchi. Comes in a card board box, the sword is in styrofoam and in a black sword bag. the sword has some oil and goo on it, but the tip of the sword is still oxidizing and some of the layers near the end were brown orange.. So.. only 2 complaints. 3 if you count the cardboard box.. 1 - the Habaki is scuffed. and 2 - the blade has begun to rust. also, it is not very sharp. its sharp but not THAT sharp... overall its a BEAUTIFUL sword, and would be 5 out of 5 but its not perfect so i give it a 4 out of 5.. (5/5 if the problems i listed were not there... if you call those problems..)
