Honshu Tanto w/Leather Sheath

I took Ley's advice and got 3 Honshu knives: the Fighter knife (dagger-style), the Fighter knife w/Sheath (bowie style), and this Tanto, and agree wholeheartedly with him that you will not be disappointed. When the Cold Steel versions of this tanto run hundreds of dollars more per item, this is a steal at the price and the quality is superior in every way. I do find the overmolded handle to be less grippy than I'd prefer, but I'm nitpicking what is most definitely a bold execution of the tanto genre. Not overly large like some of it's cousins, it comes alive in the hand and will serve well in the combat arena. Sharp and pointy. Find a place in your arsenal for this one.

I've Gone Lost My Mind

Forks I've really LOST IT!! Just the pass month alone I have spent over $1000 on this money draining site,..."And I LOVE IT!!!" (I'm sure I'll get it from my wife when the bill comes in, but that's a matter for another day). I really don't have a personal favorites, like my children, I love them for what they are. And like my children, they all have a special uniqueness that I tend to brag about or show off. With that said, these Honshu collections (which, by the way, I have almost all of it except for the back order ones,.. PATIENTLY WAITING!!!!) For the price that I've paid, the quality is absolutely awesome, can't get enough of it. It's almost perfect if not the sheaths. Most came a little tight, especially on this particular model, otherwise it's perfect. However compared to other sheaths of different collections and brands, these sheaths are masterpiece. If you don't want to spend too much money, then I would highly recommend you not buy one of these Honshu knives, because like M & Ms, you can't just have one.

Appears to be of good quality and construction. The handle is a bit small for my liking and as mentioned by Britt, the hilt will catch on the shealth handle retainer. For the money though, a good buy. Keeping it in the truck as backup.

good for the price

The knife is very well built and will actually shave straight out of the box. Two issues tho...first, the handle tapers too much. This is supposed to be a fighting knife, but the grip tapers to about half its circumference from the finger guard to the end. That doesn't give you a very stable grip. Second, the snap securement strap should have been secured from the INSIDE of the front of the belt loop. It is bradded to the outside of the front of the belt loop. This causes the finger guard to catch on the strap as you are trying to draw the knife. Not good if you ever really needed it for protection purposes.

High Quality

Impeccable blade, fit, form and price. I prefer a more dressed up grip but for the money a top buy.

Very impressed the quality and function of this knife is outstanding. Perfect design and size in a solid functional combat knife. Could shave hair right out of the box. My alternative to a standard military combat knife with the outstanding razor edge tanto design with blood groove. Well worth having at any price.
